@SaraNightfire1 Don't let these people tell you its all your fault. It is easier to find fault and blame you rather than try and find solutions but for many we have our blind spots so we don't understand what we do not experience.

So you were poor and went through all that because you wanted it? Sorry sound ridiculous why not just skip all that s**t and never have been poor to start with. How did you grow up poor if you could have chosen not to have been?
5
No they only have to look back to know! I am not rich but I also don’t live paycheck to paycheck which requires some luck! To run a business requires even more skills and luck!!!!!
3
@happymolecule8894 How many you think make 1K extra each month they don't need? Well I think the better idea is to look a median bank, checking, savings, bonds, stock brokerage accounts. To me the idea is nice but the reality is that few clear 12K extra each year compared to the number who don't!!!
3
Even if he was not a cry baby he still could remain poor! His type of work has very few rich people in it all together!
3
Yes and what you say is very obvious looking at statics but many online seem to be programed for survival and they don't analyze nor look at stats. If almost half of the entire working population makes 50K of less how can everyone end up rich? 50K even saving 1/2 is only 250K per every 10 years and even invested for 20 years at 7% is almost 700K. That is almost twice the current 60-70 years olds 300K net worth. I myself got lucky to end up with 39K cash after 14 years but if I had lost some of the risk I had taken my outcome would have been totally different.
3
@NataliaSeesIt Well it is not common for the majority to have an extra 1 to 2K after paying all their bills. Do the median numbers reflect that being common? If they don't at least half of those in the study don't have it...... There is a point in time where some people become island hoppers in jobs which suggest every job does not have a higher paying option........
2
Yeah but no surprise lots of people don’t think ahead!
2
Very under rated comment.
2
@genestarwind4610 People like Grant never admit advantages but if you are trying to get people to buy and watch it is much harder if they know you got support. He never likes to admit chance (luck) because he said he cannot control it. I think people would understand but by not mentioning any of it I just avoid his channel because his advice is not as valuable without all of it.
2
Nope I have always said coming from a richer family affords me all types of options. But problem is that if you are poor you have to do so many thing differently and you also need more luck because with money you can do stuff any way you want AND buy your own luck.
2
Why do you think that? The safety net may not always work so success is important either way.
2
I have never seen a rich person switch to making the minimum. They likely know with very low incomes access get more difficult over time.
2
Well he does think about how stuff works though. If I want an honest but hard discussion he and the young lady wearing glasses are the only two I need to talk to. I may not like what they have to say but those two seem more honest and have a grasp on reality.
2
Well not the ok paying jobs. I understand if all jobs pay enough to have options but they don't. Many pay less than break even so a job is not often the answer.
2
You know your right!!! I had thought that living on 75% of my income would allow me to do anything but 5K each year really is very little. I feel for people who have 1K or less left over each year because I hardly go to 39K cash and they will have even less. I know I am poor but at least I have a few options many don't and they should not be.
2
No it is more complex than that because one has to be able to do the job to begin with. It might be a mindset issue if one can buy their jobs and raises but as we all know we can't do either.
2
No financially is worst. I say this because when you don't have what companies want your not getting much if anything you need nor want.
2
He likely bought a house on sale and renter it out using the law as a treat to get his rent money!! Then kept working and used his and the renters money to buy the next one. Selling some and renting out others. As long as he rents to people who almost always pay how can he loose? I used to have renters and you know the ones I loved I could cut their wrist and they bleed silver, gold, jewels, and blood. But many only had blood and they were not of any value!! My point is he got rich taking advantage of others and that was true for me as well.
1
No they should know they got lucky but when one has always been lucky it gets hard to realize others won’t be as lucky.
1
No the more I have made the easier my life had gotten. And when I made less the harder it became. For me worrying about basics is far harder than worrying about not essentials.
1
Well yeah he is not like well with 1 billion people in India I got lucky etc. If anyone depended on luck and connections someone like him should see the obvious!!!!
1
As far as I am aware the biggest finance YouTubers are majority white.... So not so sure what your talking about!!
1
Having money does not mean the source of that money will be around in the future. For example I had 39K just a few months ago while now I have a ton less. Sure I can buy what I need but the money to replace the cash I have has to be coming from somewhere. Also 1 million is pent at 5% is only about 50K!!! So assuming they just spend 5% of it they are only making their income(s) plus 50K each year which is not always a lot depend on other conditions.
1
@Steffsh Well I am not so sure why do believe an "above average job will turn you into a millionaire by the time you retire, it's not that hard anymore." The average for the current 60-70 years olds in net worth is 300-350K if I am not mistaken. Lets be generous and assume the average house is 400K and the average (mean) net worth besides that house is 400K too. Ok the average is not a millionaire if those assumptions are correct because they have 800K not 1 million. There is another problem too and that is that almost 1/2 of the adult working population makes less than 50K each year so unless I missed something many have only make 2-3 million their entire lifetimes after tax. With the previous generation not being at least 1/2 millionaires how do you figure it not that hard anymore. It does not seem nor sound simple nor easy to me at all.
1
People I don’t think about all the different reasons why/why not. I usually assume if people are poor or whatever there must be a reason for it!!
1
@grremmy Yeah my little bro makes more than that and he was concerned with wanting his 30K. Meanwhile I pay multiple times less for everything but feel rich with my 5K average. I don't know anyone who else who has the potential for a 30K left over after tax, housing etc.
1
Glad you have the foresight to understand the root of the problem may exactly what you said.
1
Yeah those rich know better but they don’t say well I was favored for X reason(s).
1
Your correct but to make your own luck means you got super lucky. I doubt that very many people can say that their life if all their own choices which mean some can down to luck beyond their control.
1
Yeah interesting I don't get it either!!!
1
I think you go that backwards. Can anyone become a millionaire no factors (if it is very unlikely the answer to the question of money is no.) Is it possible for everyone to be a millionaire also no again factors.
1
@prede89 Yeah but when you have had to have support to survive it is far easier to be honest and humble.
1
I don't know why people believe in earned anything because if it were not for other people I would not have been able to earn much ever. I need roads, traffic lights etc. to get paid so I only earned part of my pay check the other fractions are become of other people and that is why I also do not complain about taxes. I have been lucky enough to have money fall in my lap multiple times in different forms so no I know I did not earn everything I made.
1
Yep because it is cr*p thinking. Yeah I could get a super high job offer without putting out an application but odds are I will never get one!!!
1
Even if not comfortable many can’t get rich!!
1
@TheMpmpmpmpmpmp I don't understand either. I have always felt my customers (renters for landlords) worked harder than me because my wealth comes from them and not myself!!!!
1
What!!!! Ok I show you mine. I started at 10$ and ending at about 13. At 10$ I had 1,200$ but at 13 1,800$. Over this entire time frame after paying off my school loans I currently have 39K cash. Maybe I was just very lucky but how do you make more than before and yet end up still poor?
1
I think you mean opportunity come around and with hard work it is easier to exploit.
1
Well yeah but the thing about the internet is that people see it!!!! So even if they have never heard of you they still might know you exist!!
1
No people expect those with millions to be understanding of the less moneyed. The problem is in part when they seem to not understand.
1
You should not have to explain this but well done. Does anyone know what the definition of rich was for this talk?
1
Behavior matters but even networking and investing in the wrong stuff can lead to poverty. I head about a nfl quarterback who when broke after multiple investments failed in the 2000’s and again in 2006 or 2008. My point is the wrong stuff can still lead to brokenness especially in businesses.
1
@shikamaru281281 that may be true but problem is even with a different mindset and behavior you still my break your leg skiing. Being prepared can only help but it only helps.
1
@azulbaker4497 No the problem is that he does not admit to being lucky and tell as much of his story as possible!!! He also selects for wealthy people over poor and uses similar research policies that systematically exclude certain people with certain profiles!!!! I am not suggesting any of this is unfair nor unethical BUT to me something seems not right about it.
1
@badtruebusiness3947 Your being only fair because I was having it easy during the recession just not now. Difference is that now I can get two bad jobs and make 20% more than then so it is still alot easier to always make more than I tend to spend.
1
@drsudz no you had skilled jobs otherwise how could you make enough to avoid poverty?
1
Stats say otherwise.
1
All the rich should know that s**t had to go right to be where they are though. Gram knows the value of real-estate equals a larger commission. Bret knows he takes huge risk with large sums and takes a huge commission or payout as the result. To say they "don't notice the luck they needed along the way" is almost crazy.
1
No mentality can't always fix issues.... there are other factors involved!!!
