You can get different kinds of cold across Australia, I remember going to see my sister about 15 years ago, who lived across the border from Canberra in NSW. I stayed in an 1800's hotel the weather was like 3 degrees below zero, I was outside wearing sneakers, a tee shirt, jeans and a hoodie. It was cold but it wasn't freezing, I came home to Adelaide a week later it was 8 degrees pouring with rain. It was bone chilling freezing no matter how many layers of clothing I put on couldn't get warm. The difference was that my sister lived up in the mountains around Canberra and I was near the coast in Adelaide, the wind near my sister was coming off the mountains, the wind near my place was coming from the Antarctic.

Think when the Sydney Opera house was built, it had an interior designed for it but the government being government didn't like how much it was going to cost so put a cheaper interior in and yes the acoustics were a bit average. Some decades later when they renovated the building, they replaced the interior with the one that was designed for it. Completely changed the acoustics of the building.

Same here in Australia, legal requirement

Calder park raceway, which includes the thunderdome banked raceway. That used to run NASCAR and AUSCAR hasn't been used since the 94/95 season, apparently still driveable but not used. Other parts are still used for other forms of racing.
6
They looked more like sun rooms/conservatories, in Australia a verandah would be a 10 foot wide roof and the length of the house with no walls
6
Of course the more affluent people that move to places like sciliy, prices will inevitably go up making life more expensive for the locals. It becomes a never-ending circle that's hard to square

Ford brought the Taurus to Australia in 1996, only lasted one year. Nobody wanted it, too big for a FWD car here. Plus it was between the falcon and the fairlane in size but had a motor smaller motor either the falcons and fairlane.
6
And remember Australia doesn't have drivers ed in high school, learning to drive is all extra curricular and usually at the parents expense.

@michaelcliffe562 I've heard it called the Chunnel here in Australia, as it's a contraction of channel tunnel hence chunnel

Used to go to speedway a lot in the 70's and 80's, they moved the inner suburban track out of the city out to the country. Wasn't prepared to make the 120 mile round trip every Friday and Saturday nights.
5
Not sure they'd convert buses into motorhomes in Europe, conversion costs, regulations and the cost of diesel might make it a no go. But have seen several in Australia.
5
You generally don't see many sketchy cars over here, can be pretty strict on the condition of cars on the road.
5
You deserved a break, family time is ALWAYS a priority above all else.
5
The F1 car on the road would've been a publicity stunt and the road would've been closed to the general public.
5
And your problem is?

Think things are different again here in Australia, rigs are speed limited to 100 kph(60 mph). They are required to have an 8 hour break in a 24 hour period, sure aussie truckers can clarify this. Pretty sure they have log books to fill out and data loggers built into the trucks as well.

Don't know about now but back in the day the passenger was called a swinger, because he swung around on the sidecar. Knew a guy from a bike shop who went to the isle of man with a sidecar team, was trying to explain what it was going over the bridges at 100mph with your helmet tapping the stones on the bridge. Not for me....

CSIRO claimed to invent wi fi in Australia, maybe the Dutch improved it?

@larsradtke4097 that ain't gonna work in outback Australia, think about it Perth to Broome in WA over 2,000 km's then having the infastructure to recharge an electric truck. With dropoff points far from bitumen roads, minimal electric infrastructure away from habitation. Probably 20 to 30 years to get to a point where electrical infrastructure starts to turn up in the bush.
