  25.  @siukong  " wrong" yet after the gun is pulled, they are able to leave... HMMMMmmmm Again, words have meanings and you don't get to just pretend de-escalation has whatever definition you want. Yeah its almost like there is a hierarchy of conflict, and one side tried to de escalate from the beginning, and another side didnt... thats the whole context of the problem here In the context of conflict resolution and law enforcement deescalation refers to a specific process where by staying cool and calm, listening, and talking it out, a hostile, aggressive and potentially violent person is calmed down to a more compliant state. Ahh i guess you didnt see the video where the lady with the gun was doing this exact thing for quite some time while trying to calmly leave... the other side didnt also de escalate, they escalated..... Pulling a firearm does NOT achieve that aim. By pulling a gun you are going for intimidation, and often some level of bluffing, in order to bully your way into getting what you want. This is escalation , not deescalation. This is a reaction to escalation, not the escalation itself... if the de escalation tactics the woman used beforehand had no effect, you move up on the hierarchy of conflict until the situation is resolved... The other party would be justified to respond to this action by drawing a firearm of their own and responding to your threat with lethal force. If that had happened in this situation one or both parties could be gravely injured or dead. There are some situations where pulling a gun is the only option. This was not one of them. There is a reason this woman still got her weapon confiscated despite ultimately not being charged of anything. " She did nothing wrong, and should be given her guns back. Pretending that this isnt a justified case of firearm self defense is laughable
