California's unemployment rate being as high is due in part because of the tech layoffs. Those jobs are not coming back because of AI; I don't see this affecting the rest of the country and if it does, it will be due to people leaving the state and bringing their money with them.

@theboringchannel2027 Who pays the property tax on the commercial properties ?
1
Thank goodness for DeSantis !!!!!!

@debbiec6216 Most people that shop at Walmart are living paycheck to paycheck so it's a fair assumption that they're spending " money that they don't have " whether it be debit card or credit card, most people that use debit cards don't have the credit to have a credit card, get the point ??

@debbiec6216 Keep trying to be right, typical.

The Demoncrats are at it again; just a ploy to collect more taxes in the guise of " helping " the disadvantaged, before any knuckleheads start: YES, this a way to collect more taxes from the increase in INCOME TAXES as anyone can tell you who lives in California both at the local and state level not to mention the federal as well...........

This isn’t necessarily bad. This might be a godsend because some insurance companies may be insolvent…..
1
@laurynelove7093 That's accurate for the past 40 years; I'm 58 so I can attest.......
1
@Worldsminebp " They're " poor kids.......
1
@mattm9619 NOBODY is saying these people don't deserve it; it's the ramifications of the increase as spelled out in the video and outlined by others.......
1
@GeorgeSchneider8889 They're jobs out there but they don't want them; they think " I'm a college graduate I shouldn't have to work in the mailroom " even though they have ZERO experience. I worked TWO part time jobs until I could find something full time. These kids want to start at the top; it'll never happen.

@mattm9619 Did I write Spanish ???? Do you prefer no one ????

Relief is on the way; the treacherous Biden regime is finally coming to an end.

WRONG Michael; you can't retroactively go after people after the fact; it makes no sense. The current owners made the decision to buy KNOWING that there were no reserves; they TOOK the risk. It's on them 100%; nobody twisted their arm to buy; there was FULL transparency and FULL disclosure; once the dotted line was signed then that's it.

Predatory ???? Do you understand the meaning of the word ? Did anybody put a gun to these idiots heads ? Threaten their parents with bodily harm ? Did ANY bank knock on their door or called their home ? Did anybody FORCE them to fill out an loan application ? Look up the word predatory. I went to school and it was a CHOICE of mine ( MBA International Business Administration '97 ) this was my RESPONSIBILITY and I PAID it back.

We don't but you can blame us; specifically the Biden Administration for the mismanagement of the US economy. If the US economy suffers then it becomes a global issue. The US is the largest consumer nation in the world; if other countries can't sell to us then it becomes a domino effect.
1
Michael, understand this; these companies are laying off the bum a$$ Gen. Z’s and Millennials ( mostly ) so that they may have their “ work/life balance”.

I'll explain; when you TAX ( tariff ) imports it makes locally produced products cheaper; cheaper locally produced products creates a demand which leads to job creation. It appears to me that you are too young to remember when " Made in America " meant quality. This changed to " Made in Japan " and now " Made in China ". We ( US ) used to produce TV's made by RCA, Zenith and Quasar to name 3 which changed to Japanese products like SONY, Hitachi and Mitsubishi. So, YES, tariffs are a GREAT thing for the US; our economy is about to improve for the better.

@Billy-the-Kid Congrats, you know a big word like " simpleton "; unfortunately, your reading comprehension is lacking because if you were to read my post AGAIN, I wrote " to name 3 "; meaning that there were MORE than 3 and if you were to understand the United States we have laws called " antitrust " that curtail cornering the market so STOP using big words that you do not understand. Do you understand the word " monopoly " ? Do you understand " antitrust " ? Nice try, kid but you're on the JV team; stay on the sideline, there are pros in the room..

@Numbered--Weighed--Divided Read my post; I spoke specifically about Florida. Who the hell wants to live in the cold ? Governor Ron DeSantis is pushing through a law that prohibits the Chinese from buying real estate in Florida; if there was an impending crash as your alluding to then why would he do that ? At 440,000 people moving to Florida; there is NO WAY that builders can keep up with demand. The real estate investment firms will move in and snap up all those homes you’re talking about ( at slight gain by sellers believe it or not ); at a 27.5% depreciation rate; plus other write offs like loss of potential revenue ( property sitting empty ); property taxes; HOA fees; Homeowners Insurance plus maintenance makes real estate arguably the best of the asset classes to invest in; I absolutely do not care about statistics or data points because they only provide a snapshot in time that ignores the intangibles that are a part of the market.

@jimshoe402 To Florida ?? That’s even worse than I expected…..

This is all true; my boss who drives a Jag SUV pays $1100.00 per month.
