The majority of Arabs only arrived in Palestine AFTER the Ottoman Empire had been defeated in 1918 and the British and the #indigenous Jewish people had created economic opportunities in the land. Arabs who are still hostile to Israel should return to their countries of Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, etc.

The Hejazi Arabs fought with the British and got 99% of the carved-up Ottoman Middle East land, today's Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Jordan. The indigenous Jews also fought with the British and were given the legal right to reconstitute THEIR ancestral homeland 'from the river to the sea'. Since the 1917 signing of the Balfour Declaration the Arabs of Palestine have violently resisted the Jews returning to control in their land. It's time they accepted reality or moved on. Israel should extend sovereignty over the disputed areas of Judea and Samaria, and Gaza, and offer the Arab occupants "residence status". That would give them equal CIVIL rights, relative autonomy, security, a travel document, etc. but not NATIONAL voting rights. #OneJewishState

  8. I'm tired of the blatant #hypocrisy. Did everyone complain loudly when thousands of Palestinian and Syrian Arabs were killed, are still being killed in Syria? Why are the Jewish people held to a different standard by the rest of the world? Is it the bigotry of low expectations that we don't try as hard to save innocent lives in the war-torn Arab countries?

The Allied Powers DEFEATED the Ottoman Empire in 1918, and in 1920 the League of Nations ratified the Balfour Agreement which gave the #indigenous Jews the right to their homeland, so long as all occupants were given #equal rights with Jews. Today one-fifth of Israel's citizens are Arabs and other minorities who have #equal right with Jews. These people are from families who accepted life in the Jewish state of Israel in 1948. The 'Palestinians' are a political construct from the 1960s, and there was nothing "generous" about the violent Arab revolt of 1936–39 and other uprisings against the Jews before 1947.

I want all indigenous communities to at least have 'autonomy' within their country, if it's not pragmatic for them to have their own country. I'm disappointed that the Kurds and Assyrians didn't get their own country at the same time as the Jews, after the Ottoman Caliphate Middle East land was carved-up in 1920. Arabs got 99% of that land!!! And Turkey took all of Anatolia with no thought for the Kurds. In my countries, Australia and New Zealand, there is much happening to redress the wrongs of colonisation.

The Jewish people are #indigenous to the Holy Land and they are back in control. DNA is not a criteria for being indigenous. It's the continuous connection to a specific land by a unique cultural group that counts.

Those Arab Muslims who live in the Holy Land have 'historic links' but they are no longer considered the 'indigenous peoples' of that land. Their focus is on Mecca and Medina, whereas the Jewish people have always been focused on Zion, or Jerusalem, regardless of where in the world they've been living after persecution. And a large number of the Arabs arrived in Palestine only AFTER the British and Jews had created economic opportunities when they took over after the defeat of the Ottoman Empire in 1918. They have names that reflect their region of origin, ie. Kurdish, Egyptian, Iraq, Syrian, Moroccan, Algerian, etc. In 1922 the League of Nations unanimously acknowledged the connection of the Jewish people with that land and gave them the legal grant to reconstitute their ancestral home, so long as the current occupants were given equal civil rights and freedom of worship. Today over two million Arab Israeli citizens have equal rights and freedom of worship in Israel.

They are not going anywhere. They've been kept deliberately "stateless" by UNRWA and the surrounding Arab nations for 75 years. This is a legal fact. Israel should extend sovereignty over all of the land 'from the river to the sea' and offer the Arabs "permanent residence status" in the Jewish state of Israel. The Jewish people have the legal right to Gaza and Judea and Samaria under international law. The 1922 League of Nations Mandate for Palestine acknowledged the continuous connection of the Jewish people to the Holy Land, and gave them the right to reconstitute their Jewish homeland in Palestine. That legal right still exists today. Although the Arabs of the region were offered many chances through UN Resolutions and peace agreements to establish their own state alongside the Jewish state, they rejected every offer. After October 7, they've #forfeited any moral right to a state of their own. Like the rest of the 80 million people who were displaced over the last 110 years, they should either be offered "permanent residence status" in Israel or resettled elsewhere by the UNHCR.

The Allied Powers WON that war in 1918 and the League of Nations granted the #indigenous Jewish people the right to reconstitute their ancestral homeland on 1% of the Middle East land that the Ottomans ceded to the British, French, etc. Today two million Arabs, whose families accepted life in the Jewish state of Israel, have equal rights and freedom of religion. It's the belligerent hostile Arabs of Palestine, whose families fought on the losing side in WWI, who refuse to accept that wars have consequences. Why are the Arabs of historic Palestine treated differently to any other group? Why do they receive around five times more funding than any other displaced peoples?

I was advised by Egyptian friends not to visit, especially not to go anywhere after dark, because Cairo had become quite lawless under President Morsi. The Arabs today have self-determination in more than 99% of that land. Israel comprises less than 1% of that dismembered empire. The Jewish people have returned to their ancestral homeland. And 21% of Israeli citizens are Arabs who have equal rights with Jews, and whose families accepted the Jewish nation-state in 1948 rather than fighting against it. And you're still not happy? I support #IndigenousRights for the Jewish people, and Kurdish people, and all people who have had a continuous connection to the land of their origin.

Arabs and other minorities have equal rights under the law, and many Arab Muslims sit in the highest positions in government, the judiciary, banking, education, health, technology, etc. Arabs also participate in military and police forces. The apartheid that I do know about is on the Temple Mount where Jews are restricted to certain hours and prevented from praying in their most holiest place, where Jewish civilians are excluded from entering Gaza and the Palestinian Territories, and where Arabs are not permitted to sell properties to Jews. Thankfully, I'm not religious and I would never pick Islam. It has horrible rights for women and girls, and the standard Islamic narrative of the first 150 is all made up to suit a political agenda.   41. There is no occupation. There is a sovereign country of Israel and some disputed land, which in time Israel will extend sovereignty over. Jordan is the Arab part of the British Mandate of Palestine. If Arabs in historic Palestine don't accept living within Israel (as two million Israeli Arab citizens do today) or alongside Israel, then they should apply for asylum elsewhere.

The Jews were recognised in 1920 by the League of Nations (today's United Nations) as being the indigenous people of 'historic Palestine'. All Arabs who are HOSTILE to the State of Israel should be resettled in a third country, preferably one which has similar cultural values, ie. one of the 22 Arab states.

  50. The difference is that there has NEVER been a Palestinian state, and there has NEVER been a Palestinian people. It’s an invention from the late 1960s after the Arab countries were defeated each time they tried to annihilate the Jewish people. Give up. Israel will only grow stronger. Arabs should be offered ‘residence status’ in Israel if they want to live in peace in the region. That would give them all the advantages of #equal civil rights, including education, health, and civil governance, but not national voting rights. Same as East Jerusalem Arabs have today. There should also be a pathway to full citizenship which TWO MILLION Arabs have today in Israel. All belligerent Arabs should be free to apply for asylum elsewhere, not kept trapped in Gaza or the West Bank.
