  27. Correct. The main WOW factor is that they are working with Lumen and Nanite now. So Lumen now effects volumetric fog, for example.

  28. I think Bethesda is not a good company in general, but I can see why they are sticking to their engine: * They have 100% control over their own engine. They understand it fully. * They don't want to pay 5% royalty to Epic Games (that's a stupid idea but Bethesda being Bethesda...). * They don't want to waste time learning new engine. That would be a good idea, but they don't want to waste time on it. They don't care if that would benefit them GREATLY in the future.

  29.  @ParallelUniversity  True! "You need a 2000$ PC" is overrated! You would like to have but you don't have to ;-) If you could find Intel i7 4790k for your old PC - you may buy it! It would cost like... let's see... 125$ A RTX 2060 would be a good upgrade for a GTX 970. But you already have a new PC so you wouldn't need those upgrades ;-)

  30. Depends on what you do ;-) I assume that you are a solo dev or a small team. UE 5 will not give you much. It sounds good on paper but if you are not AA or AAA studio - you will NOT use 95% of UE 5 features. You will not use 50% of Unity's features too, btw ;-)

  41.  @Silverlion_90  Fair point! Should we just ban emulators because they are pretty often misused? What about torrent protocol and torrent clients? Let me remind you about The Witcher 3. That game never had a DRM because developers said that it will be cracked and pirated anyways. The game has sold over 50 million units as of March 2023, making it one of the best-selling video games of all time.
