  1. ​​ @ColburnFreml 19th navies were often early adopters of repeating rifles. In Britain the Royal Navy adopted automatic pistols before the Army. Then again, who didn't adopt automatic pistols before the British Army?

  2. It always struck me as odd that Portugal opted for 7.65mm rather than 9mm. When other colonial powers chose bigger bores for stopping power. Even the German Imperial Army chose 9mm based on their experience in Africa.
