  1. No it wasn't. The Owen Gun has a recoil spring guide rod, but the spring is exposed on the outside. The much less reliable Austen copied the MP40's enclosed spring.

  2. The magazines were the same design. But the production tolerances were different. So Sten magazines will sometimes fit into an MP38 or MP40, and vice versa, but often they won't. You have to try each magazine with each gun.

  3. ​ @tostie3110 You aren't supposed to hold the magazine housing. You are supposed to hold the front of the lower receiver, behind the magazine housing.

  4. ​​ @thomaszhang3101 Except you weren't meant to use the magazine housing as a grip. Like the Sten Gun if you hold the magazine housing you can twist magazine and increase the chance of misdeeds.
