In 1939 Mauser offered a 9x25mm load that was equivalent contemporary .357 Remington Magnum. But, because of the War it never entered production.

Westley Richards developed an expanding bullet for 7.63x25mm. It was intended only for hunting. It had a hollow cavity within the jacketed nose. And a inverted cone that would be driven into the lead core when the nose collapsed, causing it to spread out. Westley Richards were the British, and Imperial agents for Mauser products at the turn of the 19th & 20th Centuries. As well as selling complete Mauser products, they built sporting rifles using standard G1898 actions. And Westley Richards commissioned Mauser to develop the long version of the action. For Express calibres.
