Some WW 2 anti-tank guns had 360⁰ traverse (ie. British 2-pounder & the German 8.8cm PAK 43). Also the Germans were developing field artillery with 360⁰ traverse towards the end of WW2. To allowe all round defence of isolated positions in open terrain. Such as steppes and desert. Experience had taught the Wehrmacht that your enemy does not always attack from the direction you expect.

So, why do many modern towed artillery pieces have a firing platform (at the guns balance point). Which, when fully extended, lifts the trail legs off the ground so the gun can be pivoted 360⁰? Also, the PAK 43 (with a vertical sliding breech) was aways mounted on a cruciform platform. The 8.8cm gun on a split trail carriage was the PAK 43/41 (with a horizontal sliding breech).

The D-30 more resembles a Czech gun than a German one: The Skoda 10.5cm le Fh 43 had a 360⁰ mounting like the D-30. But with four trail legs instead of three. And a self-leveling hydraulic syspension, for use on uneven ground. That locked solid during recoil.
