  2. By the time US fighters had 6 x 50 cals British fighters had 4 x 20mm. And our cannon worked.

  3. The British had changed the chamber dimensions on the Hispano cannon to make them more reliable. And then sent the amended drawings to the US. Then the Ordnance Department made Colt et al change the chambers to comply with their own standards and made the Hispanos unreliable again.
