  1. The Germans did have a proper sniper scope, the Zf 39, by Zeiss. Plus they impressed many similar civilian scopes. But they didn't produce enough of them until 1944. So they had to press the Zf 41 into use with snipers.

  2. ​​ @thankstodd2794  The British sent their chosen sniper rifles to Holland & Holland to be reworked. As well as being fitted for scopes, they were restocked and had their triggers reworked.

  3. The official German sniper scope, the ZF 39, was a 4x Zeiss. But even with other optical companies building their own versions, the Wehrmacht could not get enough. Hence the ZF41 being used in a role it wasn't designed for.

  4. ​ @michaelpettersson4919 The Wermacht did have a better scope for sniping, the ZF39. A 4x design from Carl Zeiss. But they couldn't build them fast enough to meet the unexpected, by the military, demand for snipers and their kit.
