Ken, this was a great one as it was about a Hollywood stars home with lots of history! But what made it even better was your inclusion of Marion's bio and that letter to her friend, saying William gave her the feeling she was worth something to him ! I never heard that before, and it puts to bed the idea she was just a gold digger! Please do more like this!

What a beautiful house and a great success story! So glad the house was preserved and serves a purpose that Sarah would have wanted!

Its great that a family member lived in the place long enough so it was preserved instead of being sold to developers! I bet it was more stately and had appropriate furniture when it was first built! I would like to see it now and how much has been restored!

He moved to Canada and lived out his life here, as he still retained the KFC restaurants too. When Kentucky Fried Chicken changed to KFC, the quality and food items it was know for went out the window in my opinion. They closed one here, and most people I know don't eat it as its basically just crap now...used to be local chicken...now its all factory farm, barely developed chicken....ughhh. His house in Ontario, was a nice little comfortable bungalow!

A lot of these big money family's also had lavish private railroad cars they used to get to summer homes etc. It would be interesting to see a video on those too!
39
I think the house interior design was ahead of its time! Most of the homes were dark inside, unlike this one! Also the tufted ceilings are beautiful! Ken I wish this house was still standing so you could give a tour of it!
38
Best part was that it was saved! So many great rooms and ornamentation! Of course that 3rd floor ball room is stunning!
38
This was a good one showing all the houses and many you have made videos of! I have been to the Henry Frick house in NYC in the 80's on a school art trip! It was amazing and I still have some post cards from it! So much great art work and the rooms brought from France and reconstructed was very cool! I think there was a Louis IV room with all the furnishings too! The William Clark house would still be nice to see now !
38
Too much money spent too quickly on un-needed extravagance! Her choice to save her diamonds cost her own life! The house was beautiful inside and out! Amazing craftsmanship!
36
The detail and woodwork in that house was amazing! The one fireplace mantle with the statues...I hope that was saved! The amount of work put into these places, only to have it destroyed a short time later is tragic!
34
It's nice to see photos with the actual people who lived there! Gives the place more life, if you know what I mean!
32
Both places are magnificent! Not only the location and scenery but the interiors of the first house too! Glad to see the Bavarian Village is still remaining and in use!
31
I thought Lynwood Hall would be on the list. But its a bit smaller at around 70k Sq feet! The amount of craftsmanship lost when the big places where taken down is tragic!
31
The outside is beautiful! Interior has some nice rooms, but with the side rooms being pie shaped and crammed it seems like he tried to put a square house into an octagon !
28
I think the winter garden was the nicest room! So glad it was saved!
26
Their legacy lives on because of photos and drawings and great informative videos like yours Ken!
26
Beautiful and the whole place should still be standing! Too bad he didn't get his will in order!
25
An amazing and beautiful house, built on blood money in many ways! When I visited The Frick in NYC, I probably saw some of the art work from this house!
25
I have seen some recent urban explorer tours of Lynnewood Hall. A lot has been stripped but there is also some really beautiful rooms and details still in place! The cost of upkeep and things like having to replace the roof can be a deal breaker. It would be great to see it turned into something that would keep it intact!
24
The view of the front door over the reflecting pond is beautiful! I like the way the house is built on top with the gardens down the hill! Nice to hear its still standing and being restored !
20
What is not to like about this house, inside and out! Spectacular and we can see how places like this where emulated in the US!
20
Frederick Jr.'s house was beautiful inside and out! Glad both places still stand!
20
The gardens were magnificent! I loved the overall Japanese decorations! The one room only had a few "Trinkets" like the 3 foot tall Japanese statue up on the mantle haha! Too bad it burned, but at least the car collection and grounds are still there!
20
Ken i think its 'Mon-dale' and not 'Mondal' in your pronunciation, but I could be wrong as I live in Canada lol
18
The house is more like a museum in some ways with its big entrance gallery! Although some of the rooms are very nice. So glad its been preserved! I would love to tour it or see photos of what it looks like now inside! Thanks Ken

Ken, in Toronto is "The Keg Mansion" Its a steak house that used to belong to the Massey family from Massey Ferguson the farm equipment maker. Its in almost original condition also with a Morish room! Great history and worth covering!
16
Singer Castle is so beautiful! The exterior and location!
16
I like the lines and look of the place! Like to see how the interior looks today. Hopefully still as nice as when it was built!
15
So glad it still stands! I am glad they have photos of how it looked! I have always like the Louis XIV furniture and how ornate and stylish it is! These huge ornate palaces where great Ideas at the time! But little thought was given into future costs and how descendants would pay for them !
15
What an incredible and beautiful house! The drawing room was magnificent! And also the grand entrance! I love all the big gas light fixtures ! I was waiting to hear, all the art work and that amazing statue had been lost! Thankfully it wasn't, but alas, this and so many other grand homes perished!
15
Probably one of the nicest Manhattan Mansions I have seen yet! The interior details where stunning! I am so glad the 500 yr old Courtyard was saved! Hopefully a lot of the other details where also!
15
Great old house with an interesting history! The photos of the interior seem to be when the house was in need of repair and was beyond its heyday ,but was still beautiful ! Glad it has been preserved!
14
Everything about this place was perfection! Too bad it was ripped down.
14
Beautiful! I see why they were more comfortable living here than in any of their marble palaces!
14
What a beautiful house and grounds! I have seen it in many movies and tv shows. Especially that long cascading fountain ! I read that he had a room just for that giant christmas tree that was permanently decorated!
14
The whole house was beautiful with its terra cotta and openings to terraces! The whole place had a light and airy look to it! Sounds like they couldn't wait to tear it down!
14
The new house was still like a castle inside. I wonder what the first house looked like!
13
I would love to go on the self guided tour! On the TV show, they didn't have to change much when filming in some of the rooms! Glad the beautiful place is still around to enjoy!
13
What a beautiful house ! I wonder how much of the furniture was Frank's! I hope its protected and on the historical list! There will never be another voice like Old Blue Eyes!
13
The exterior and gardens seemed nicer than the actual house. Based on the photos, it was more like a museum than a comfortable house! Too bad it's gone and the once great gardens are just a memory!
12
Beautiful well lit rooms! Too bad no library pictures, I am sure it would be as nice as the other rooms! Thankfully it survives!
12
The music room was pretty spectacular! Hope the new owners restore it !
12
Ken, I would have to go with the incredible looking Hopkins Mansion! Not only because of the exterior but also the beautiful interior! So much was lost in that 1906 earthquake!
12
My like of the house was tainted, when you mentioned the hypocrisy of its first owners!
12
Nice to see a big grand house that actually still stands! Lovely place! Thanks for the history!
12
Some really beautiful rooms and spaces, the craftmanship was unreal, especially that fountain carved out of one piece of marble! I wonder if that survives somewhere! Interesting history too. I wonder to what extremes they went through, to clear their name!
11
Beautiful architecture! The interior has some cool different elements! I would love to get a tour of it now!
11
I can see why it is one of your favourite houses! The front hall was beautiful! And the rest of the house was just so ornate and incredible too! I just can't believe they let a dunderhead developer with more money than brains, go and destroy the place without taking out the incredible interior first! A real travesty!
11
Great idea! This place was monumental until it was "restored" It looked amazing from the outside!
11
Lots of great History and homes in Toronto! Thanks for showing this one!
