I’m not saying you’re wrong, I’m saying I don’t get it. Seems to me the killer saw his victims as obstacles to his goal of killing the doctor, not as human beings.   17. @John Hazaroth The testimony from Trump’s brand new Sec Def Chris Miller is that on January 4th, he ordered that the NG Quick Reaction Force or any other units not be deployed without orders from the Chain of Command, i.e., either he or Trump. He also issued orders that no National Guardsmen be issued riot gear nor weapons. He testified that he issued these orders because on January 3rd, Trump ordered him to “do whatever was necessary to protect the demonstrators" on January 6th. This is unusual because the SOP is for local commanders to have the authority to deploy the QUICK Reaction Force. That’s why it’s quick, to respond to emergencies QUICKLY.

But the vendor is also responsible for providing the product as advertised. If the vendor failed in this duty, they share responsibility with the armorer. That said, I think it will be difficult for Gutierrez to prove the live bullet came from the vendor. It will not be difficult for the vendor to introduce doubt that Gutierrez was professionally sloppy, didn’t maintain access control to the weapons and blank ammo, and wasn’t at her post during the shooting.

They’re avoiding that because they can get him without litigating free speech. The Trump attorneys claiming it’s a free speech issue are lying. That’s their only defense, but it’s a defense for a crime that hasn’t been charged.

  48. A defense attorney in a criminal case has to ask the judge for permission to quit and provide justification. I guess being a witness against your own client is sufficient reason. 😅 Oddly, one of the attorneys, Evan Corcoran, is withdrawing from the case but continues to work for Trump in one of the other cases. 😂
