@KCBRYAN_1525 I hate to say it, but if Putin keeps doubling down and moving closer to using a nuke, it might be the horrible case that a first strike on Russia is the best solution.

I’d be careful about assumptions before Ukraine confirms. Russia has not officially declared war yet, and denies to the Russian people it is at war, as you know. This prevents them from calling up reservists. The lack of a state of war means that the more experienced conscripts are about to be released from service, to be replaced by a new herd of fresh faced teenagers. What I am saying is that a nearly impossible attack like this might be a false flag operation to prepare the Russian public for a declaration of war, so that Russia can switch to a war time mobilization. It might be Russia attacking itself to sway public opinion and give Putin the justification for escalation—and I know it might be hard to imagine how he could be more murderous towards the civilian population, but he can if he can convince the Russian people that Ukraine is an existential threat to them. Edit: but if I am wrong and this attack speeds up the exit of Russian forces from Ukraine, then I say Hallelujah!

@ApunkDaydreamLamunanOi For sure, some childhood experience twisted Putin’s soul. If we can discover who bullied him, and pinpoint the moment that he was beat up in some St. Petersburg schoolyard, we might be able to build a time machine, go back a little further in time, and abort his mother’s pregnancy.
1
@carvealegoff *assassination Spelling counts! 😉 Ignore Spring Bloom. If he doesn’t post his trash comments, he’ll get sent to Ukraine to die face down in the mud with his fellow Russian stooges.
1
@billchristie2120 The thrust at Kiev was supposed to be a 3-day operation to overthrow the government and install a puppet government.
1
They were digging in, digging foxholes and trenches in radioactive soil, is what they were really doing. You realize that Russia discourages its people from learning about Chernobyl. It’s likely that the soldiers and their immediate leaders had no idea what happened at Chernobyl.
1
@furuwrecker1420 Agreed, but I feel some sympathy for the Russian trolls. If they don’t post their trash, they’ll get sent to Ukraine and die face down in the mud.
1
Free him from this life.
1
@ytafalk3757 Puta madre, Russians are the mother and father of corruption. Ukrainian corruption is “on hold” because Ukraine’s survival is at stake, imbécil. This whole invasion is the result of corruption and Russia’s failure to win is a result of corruption. If you get hungry, go eat an oligarch.
1
@turkofalbanianorigine1629 Sadly for Russia, no league outside of Russia will admit Russia again. Russia can go play with itself.
1
@vaitstream6227 I hope you were able to say good bye to your friend, because he is not coming back to Russia. Unless he was posted to Chernobyl, in which case he will be sent east to die of radiation poisoning while hidden from Russian society.
1
@evolassunglasses4673 No, the UKR defense forces are not surrounded in the East. Russia has too many fronts, and has failed to connect them. Your lies become ever wilder and unbelievable the more desperate you become. Too many people recognize you as a troll, and they recognize that you trade in lies and propaganda.
1
@HistorialChannel buena snoches, amigo. It looked like the Russian tanks were popping smoke. Was this to help their enemies identify their locations? 😄 I’m guessing that they meant to conceal themselves with smoke, but the wind prevented the smoke from pooling around them? Ay chihuahua, what a desmadre! Atte:from Mexico.
1
That’s state controlled media for you. The narrative here is that Russia is liberating Ukraine from the evil NATO. Of course they’re not going to acknowledge the savage fighting against Ukrainians.
1
Headline writers’ knowledge isn’t generally deep enough to distinguish between an APC, an IFV, SPA, or a MBT. They should just go with armored vehicle or AFV so you don’t get sand in your underwear, but they don’t listen to me.
1
Preparations for a post-thaw counteroffensive. Watch for this to happen: Russian attacks, making slow progress until they are spent, then counterattacks from UKR that grow into a broad offensive campaign to Push Russia out. Watch and remember—there might be discouraging days ahead, but it’s part of the plan to draw out Russian attacks.
1
@julianpetkov8320 <— Russian troll I get it Julian. If you don’t post your trash comments and lies, they’ll send you to Ukraine, where you’ll die face down in the mud.
1
I haven’t confirmed this report, but I just heard that Irpin was attacked yesterday by Russian ground forces and it was shelled before and after. The Ukrainians blew up a major bridge to prevent Russian forces from re-entering the town center. All of which to say, Russia doesn’t seem to be moving forces away from Kiev if they’re still attacking. No ceasefire was declared. I wouldn’t trust Putin even if a ceasefire was agreed.
1
This wasn’t a retreat, this was a rout.
1
The Z or other markings often indicate that a tank is Russian.
1
Arrest and court martial. I have no idea what sort of code of military justice they have in Ukraine, do you?
1
@sylviaelse5086 There are a lot of Russian trolls and anti-democracy nutcases in these comments. There might be quite a few ignorant people that never bothered to study democratic governance—a group that encompasses the Russian trolls, the anti-democracy nuts, and the just plain stupid people.
1
@mitchwinder1204 like a biography of the first woman tank designer, Ivanna Popov?
1
Thinking about it in terms of the arms industry, this is a good business partnership. Poland and Korea each have expertise in designing weapons and weapon research that compliments the other. The U.S.A. was once called the “Armory of Democracy”. I think it can only help Democracy if it has more than one armory.
1
@volorfyexela You sound like you’re from a dying country. Is it Russia?
1
All is according to plan. Vehicle was being sent to rendezvous with Moskva.
1
@stusanderson3111 Coincidentally, the tank’s driver had the same first name as you, but he spelled it Stew.
1
Did you study math in Florida?
1
To avoid confusion, use UKR.
1
@BigSkyCurmudgeon Apparently a lot these tanks don’t have explosive reactive armor to defend against HEAT rounds. They have the ERA boxes attached to the hull, but the boxes are empty or filled with cardboard. Oh, Russian corruption, you’re soooo naughty!
1
@foreverhungry84 or open field maneuver with large masses of tanks. But the Russians seem to stick to the roads, like they’re afraid to take the tanks cross country.
1
@Myemnhk 4000 meters is pretty damn far. It’s almost —[takes out calculator, pushes a few buttons]— 4 kilometers? 😄
1
@4700_Dk Good. Then we only have to develop time travel, go back in time with an RPG and kill the tank’s mother.
1
@edgarsalinas6408 He’s not even as good at this military stuff as a failed watercolor artist.
1
@chiron13 No, dude. No one literally buries a tank when the crew dies like this. They have to send someone inside with wire brush, a scraper, and one of those dirt devil automotive vacuums, and then they pour the ash and the uncooked bits into a regular wooden coffin.
1
@BegoDan When the support infantry saw the Ukrainian position they were supposed to take, they charged forward, waving white flags.
1
@mepp_rider7221 Yeah, those paratroop units choppered in were supposed to be reinforced immediately and relieved within 72 hours by those tank columns that got stuck on the road. The reinforcements got shot down because Russia never managed to establish significant air superiority. You’ve heard of the WWII operation Market-Garden? Let’s just say that Russia’s initial plan was “an airport too far”.
1
@oldmandan3692 I don’t know, it kind of looks like a duffel bag with boots growing out of it.
1
@melinagoranson You’re forgetting that, due to the logistics problems, there aren’t enough driver diapers to go around. When the next driver gets attacked and poops in his pants, they’ll have to pull over and clean up.
1
@ivanramos1809 There was also small arms fire coming from the side. I’m not saying it’s the same video, but it’s possible the driver was struck by rifle fire and that’s why he drove off the road.
1
In the 1970s, I had jeans that were more flared than that.
1
Thank you for stripping out the saxophone music in the original.
1
@WESSERPARAQUAT This. There would be no conventional war between NATO and the Russian Federation. It would last 45 minutes of them getting their ass kicked and then nuclear Armageddon.
1
@russiansarefilthyapes1660 I understand that sentiment. But I pray that the Russian people wake the eff up, grow a spine, and throw out Putin and all his Putinistas. If they do not, they are just as responsible as Putin.
1
On the other hand, that’s one Russian tank that won’t be pulling up in front of an apartment building to kill civilians.
1
@zach6360 With all the nuclear saber rattling of Putin, there’s a chance those Russian mothers will be reunited with their sons sooner rather than later.
1
@johndoe-ss9bz I think the Western countries should explicitly offer political asylum to Russian soldiers that surrender or desert.
1
@ringobeck9613 One thing the West can offer that Russia can not: an all expenses paid vacation at Disneyland in Florida.
1
@CIA_Is_aTerrorist_Orginization That’s not happening. Invent a more plausible lie next time.
1
@ringobeck9613 No, not really. The West will recoup the cost of this war by selling off Oligarch’s yachts. The last one seized was valued at $700 million.
