  3.  Tord Pettersson  You have a fair point, but on the other hand, Ukrainian claims can be fact checked because the Ukrainian government doesn’t control the media and hasn’t banned a free press. Independent reporters from around the world can investigate and report from Ukraine without fear of violence or imprisonment. Because of a free and independent media in Ukraine, the Ukraine government can’t get too far from the facts if it wants to maintain credibility. They might put a spin on the facts, but they cannot shamelessly make things up like the Kremlin does.

  5. I think Lukashenko has enough problems staying in control of his own population. If he attacks Ukraine, he won’t have enough soldiers left to put down the opposition. Say what you will about this brutal dictator, but he’s not a dummy like Putin. He will let Russia use Belarusian territory to launch strikes, but he won’t send his troops across the border.

Putin is not winning militarily, so he makes war on the civilians. The Russian soldiers and mercenaries are supposed to rape, murder, destroy property, and steal anything not nailed down.
