  1. An oil flush would free up any stuck rings and get rid of the sludge. Cheaper than taking the engine apart. Engine Restore might help too.

  26. No need to pre-fill an oil filter. Heck my oil filter is mounted "upside down" so it would be useless anyway.

  49. It would have been better if you had switched to a K&P Engineering filter. Has 7 times better flow rate. They also can be taken apart, inspected, cleaned and reused.
