Run the Amsoil Signature Series oil and you will be good.

It's amazing what not doing routine maintenance does to an engine. 3 engines and all it would have taken would be to check the oil level.
12
Looks like a lot of that could be machined and put back into use.
9
Eric, I think you might need an Astro Pneumatic 4980 Air Hammer, might make it easier than using a handheld hammer.
8
Would be interesting to see inside parts you don't take apart, maybe with a borescope. Wonder if the block wasn't machined flat or the head, so it never made a perfect seal from the factory.
7
I had a 2011 Prius and never had any issue with the engine. I took care of it correctly, which isn't generally what happened to engines that make it to Eric's video.
6
Just remember to bring your safety squints.
5
The oiled parts are going to look good if he ran Amsoil ;)
3
That's not oil, that's grease :)
3
In the US car manufacturers aren't allowed to have specialized oil that you can only get from the dealer, unless it's free, see Magnuson Morris Act.
3
I had an Infiniti back in 1999. Loved it.
3
That's not water, that's blinker fluid.
3
Probably use an oxy fuel torch and melt the bearing off.
2
That buzzing is just the low air pressure warning. It's the yellow button next to the red one on the dash, push it in to release the brakes and pull it out to set the brakes.
2
Kudos
2
Broken frame, nothing a plasma cutter and a welder couldn't fix :)
2
It has a Fram oil filter, enough said.
2
The "dipstick" tube is for extracting oil. They probably use an electronic sensor for oil level.
2
@hdrenginedevelopment7507 I prefer sending oil samples to a lab to be analyzed rather than just guessing at some random mileage.
2
This engine came from a car that drove a lot on the highway at a constant speed.
2
The solution GM has come up with... change from 0W-20 to 0W-40 oil.
2
The side body damage doesn't look too bad. I don't think it would cost thousands of dollars to paint.
2
Merry Christmas Eric
2
Ford did own Land Rover at one point, so it's not surprising to see a Powerstroke in it.
2
Time for the former owner to find a lemon law attorney in their area. The B8.5 2.0L 4 cyl is $10,000 and that's just the long block, not installed.
2
@thomasfletcher760 It's the same tool, just the official designation.
2
People put oil down the cylinders to try and free up the pistons so that can get the engine to turn over.
1
Nothing wrong with aftermarket as long as you go for stuff that is better than OEM not low end cheap stuff.
1
I had an Infiniti G20t
1
Looks like the owner used a synthetic oil.
1
Oil is not the same as dielectric grease...some owners.
1
Wonder if there will be a flood damaged engine coming your way from Florida ;)
1
Wisconsin isn't that bad for rust
1
I'm sure Ford uses a rubber belt as it was cheaper.
1
It costs more to fix it than it does to replace.
1
Each turbo is probably with $4k
1
The piston rides in inserts that can be replaced.
1
Didn't Ray teach you how to take out dipstick tubes while you were in FL ?
1
You can always get all the oil out if you extract through the dipstick tube.
1
Why would someone destroy an Escalade not once but twice? Hope Eric can save what's left of it's dignity.
1
@edwardspaccarelli5944 Sold it at 135k
1
Mileage is 184271
1
Hole in the block = positive crankcase ventilation.
1
It's not Yum Yum sauce, it's Yuck Yuck sauce.
1
When you do an oil change you have to put fresh oil in not just drain the old oil.
1
My Audi checks it's own oil and has no dipstick.
1
Eric, have you ever done a video teardown on an engine with a dry sump system?
1
Wherever you get your engines from needs to learn about Cosmoline
1
Use a fully synthetic oil and use an oil flush at each oil change and you can go 15k but you also have to change it based on time too, one year regardless of miles.
1
@BruceLee-xn3nn Why would you waste oil and money doing that often?
