You are aware that the AR15 pattern is potentally the most reliable mass produced rifle on earth right now right?
3
Its a part of the gun that does not bear any pressure, it simply does not matter as long as its the right shape, you could probably make the thing out of a casting and it would still be fine
3
Cringe
3
@JohnLeePedimore jokes aside the 25 ACP cartredge facinates me, its a product of its time (remember 22 rimfire was considered a valid self defence round in the 1800s and early S&W carry revolvers where chambered in it) it seems like sombody was content with the power level but wanted centerfire reliability and boom, 25 acp was born
3
yeah it looks like it would be a bit inconveniant to carry around
3
@Horus-Lupercal nice bait
3
im no expert but it might be feasible if you can see the density of the metal as the original markings where likely stamped in which would compact the steel
3
@TortillasAllTheWayDown could have just kept the sentence short with "Capitalism doesent work"
3
@chaoslu Bullpups in general are kind of pointless for general use, for like swat dudes or whatever shure, but for general infantryman a folding stock is perfectly sufficant. keep it folded when moveing, when needed unfold and have the same ergonomics as a regular rifle
3
you probably got used to the, frankly astronomical fiber content
3
It is absolutely allowed for researchers, researchers with camaras on the other hand, VICE did a piece that showed some of the ATF refrence collection and to say it was impressive is an understatement
3
@korbetthein3072 No, just the EU, Eastern european deactivation standards are absolutely based, Some countrys like Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus consider it deactivated as long as the barrel is plugged to only fire blanks. So you can still have mechanically operational deacts
3
Some of the civilian versions sent to countries in northern europe had fully functional supressor systems if the countries allowed. Its obviously a narrow list, countries that have permissive gun laws and open trade with russia, but for a time some places did allow these
3
Im thinking about buying this stuff just for the collectability, the packageing is just cool also 48th!
3
Whoever this collector is he/she has the remarkable ability to not just find unicorns, but galivanting packs of unicorns, "heres this trials pistol, in perfect shape that they only made 6 of, in contrast to this other pistol of which there are 2 known in existance, which is next to my first model C96 that has Paul Mausers signature etched by hand by non other than the man himself!" Like if it was from one country i could assume a company was selling off its old stuff and they just happened to know a guy or be in the right place at the right time, but this unicorn collection spans 100 years and most corners of the globe. It must truely be a remarkable collection when seen in full in person
3
I thought it would be a discussion video not one with an actual gun on hand
3
OGlettuceWEED better than the us where you can't even own a converted automatic
2
Huh, i did not know they had durable enough plastic for pistol grips in the 1910's
2
Neutron Alchemist You would be suprized, i agree with you from a technical standpoint, but i still wouldent be suprized if they did it
2
+ostiariusalpha Yeah that's almost twice what they normally go for
2
+dougler500 I mean its fucking 45-70
2
+Hesperus It *Probably worked better with factory ammo.
2
Or you could drill in steel inserts for the wood screws to interface with
2
Bastian Cassel headlines: MAN SHOT 5 TIMES! bruseing may occor
2
Theres somewhere between 100-300 of them in the country total
2
TheSuburban15 Ehh looked pretty thick and sturdy to me. assueming I had inspected it before hand I would have no problem fireing it
2
Or mabey some obscene ground mount for removeing mountans
2
+Jersey Mike's Rail Videos Everything except the barel yeah, could be done with a dremmel tool and an angle grinder
2
+Forgotten Weapons Was the ammunition made without sealant or something? or just not made well/to last?
2
Nikolaj Kazakov and I am 100 percent shure we need pictures!
2
u_dun_goofed In 12 GA with a 10 round mag and a 5 minute reload.
2
NormanMatchem This is why I love the VZ-58A mag pouch holds 4 30 round mags (+1 in the gun) with a stripper clip pouch ( even the smallest 7.62x39 pouches hold 80 rounds while some hold upwards of 210) this means that with the VZ you can reload with a stripper clip mid mag aslong as you have fired 9 rounds (It would eject the 10th on a loaded mag)
2
swdfsdft ACTUALLY! a better example was that whole "Billet" AR-15 receiver thing that went around a bit like 2 years ago. "For increasing the strength of the rifle lengthening the life of the receiver" Has ANYONE ever seen or heard of an AR-15 receiver wearing out? ANYONE! its not even a part that withstands much pressure. they simply DO NOT wear.
2
+TheeldergamersAdam Anything's possible if you drop enough money, but I don't see it happening on any kind of large scale considering there's probably only a couple of these things in existence.
2
sergeantbigmac Exactly, thats why companys like privi require a minimum order of 100,000 rounds.to get a new caliber started.
2
Shane Rohr No problem
2
Geremy Tibbles From what I have read they work quite well
2
Jeff Caldwell I think he was more reffering to the 45 cal versions. frankly id have no problem loading one with modern factory 45 acp and shooting it. they are (Ironicly) the newist production C96 variants we have
2
pcblah yeah that was included on later models standard. the original conversions just changed the bolt face from what I have read
2
pcblah yep exactly. the original MG-1s where simply a barrel and bolt face change. had interesting markings to Nazi markings AND west german markings.
2
DonMeaker the early prototypes of the M60 are basically a FG-42 in 308 with a MG-42 feed system on it sideways. its actualy pretty funny looking.
2
Forgotten Weapons Ouch, 10 rounds total is not necessarily the best combat load, Did they at least give them spare rounds to load the mags with? like the Soviets did with motor riflemen? (who got around 2 spare magazine's but at least received packets of ammunition to refill with)
2
NormanMatchem I Was basing the number of off pictures I have seen online as well as some WW2 webgear saw at a gunshow which had 3, 2 slot 1911 mag pouches. Now I there is a possibility that was something somebody put together themselves but it looked about right. im by no means saying it was standard as im pretty shure they where issued one pouch of 2 mags but its always a possibility that (Insert solder here) grabbed or traded for more of them.
2
NormanMatchem I highly doubt solders counted pounds, remember it was common before assaults for solders to stash there food to come back to in order to carry more ammo, so its quite conceivable that someone could potently exchange a can of spam for a few pistol mags.
2
SwineNahNah Yes, I am Latvian.
2
SwineNahNah How where you aware of this? the name?
2
SwineNahNah Splendid! are you Latvian as well?
2
SwineNahNah Wonderful! excellent meeting another Latvian! I however inhabit the other side of the pond.
2
+Forgotten Weapons When it comes to finding cool jackets thrift stores are simply the best source.
2
Bet you it smells interesting when the barrel heats up
