@andrewthecelt3794 That is a ridiculous comparison. Please let everyone know when you can get AIDS through the air. "It goes through the air," Mr Trump told the author on 7 February. "That's always tougher than the touch. You don't have to touch things. Right? But the air, you just breathe the air and that's how it's passed. "And so that's a very tricky one. That's a very delicate one. It's also more deadly than even your strenuous flus." From BBC News

WHAT WAS CLAIMED The Covid-19 virus has not been isolated as per Koch’s postulates, and this means PCR tests do not work. OUR VERDICT "This is untrue. Covid-19 has been isolated many times. It does not need to adhere to Koch’s postulates as it is a virus, and Koch’s rules have been widely disregarded now. Covid-19 PCR tests are generally very accurate."

Let's review the rules for having a protest and avoiding jail followed by a televised national inquiry. "We have a constitutional right to engage in peaceful protest and dissent. Some city or town governments require a permit before holding a protest on public property like a park or town square. It is one of the fundamental freedoms protected in the Charter. The section protects a person's right to gather with others and express ideas. The wording of section 2(c) qualifies the freedom, guaranteeing only peaceful assembly. It indicates that breaches of the peace, such as riots, receive no protection. While the Charter protects many of the rights that are crucial to effective protest, laws limit this right in very real ways. Protesters have been arrested for breaching the peace and unlawful assembly. Provincial legislation may restrict blockades on public roadways and assemblies on certain pieces of public property. Municipal by-laws often limit how, when, and where, protests can be held." National Post

@RemiliaVampire Yes he is. The real question is whether you are Canadian.

U-turn #1. Smith edited her poorly written Sovereignty Act. Apparently, she realized that giving herself unlimited powers to rewrite laws without seeking approval from the legislature was a bad look. U-turn #2. Smith changed her mind about adding the unvaccinated to the Human Rights Act. Uturn #3. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith softens stand on proposed sovereignty act, says she would respect Supreme Court decisions. New Alberta Premier Danielle Smith says she will abide by decisions from the Supreme Court of Canada in rulings involving her proposed sovereignty act – a contrast to her pledge during the United Conservative Party leadership campaign that the legislation would give the province the power to disregard federal laws and legal decisions. Smith announces absurdly large cabinet that keeps friends close, some enemies closer, and includes few women.

"And so that's a very tricky one. That's a very delicate one. It's also more deadly than even your strenuous flus." "Former President Donald Trump on Monday encouraged his supporters to get vaccinated but said he did not understand why Republicans were more skeptical of the shot—even as he again floated a conspiracy theory about Pfizer. Trump—who previously expressed skepticism about vaccines in general—said he doesn’t understand why Republicans are hesitant to get inoculated, saying “I don’t know what that is exactly.” “I encourage people to take it, I do,” Trump said of Covid-19 vaccines, adding that he was immunized. Trump and former First Lady Melania Trump received the vaccine in January behind closed doors, unlike Joe Biden and other former presidents." BBC

We scored the top spot in "Quality of Life" and "Social Purpose," too. It looks like our country gained some serious bragging rights this year according to the 2021 "Best Countries in the World" U.S. News report, where Canada ranked number one overall.

If you are keeping score, this is u-turn #2 for Smith as she changed her mind about adding the unvaccinated to the Human Rights Act. Uturn #3. "Still Confused About Masks? Here’s the Science Behind How Face Masks Prevent Coronavirus. Health experts say the evidence is clear that masks can help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and that the more people wearing masks, the better. There are several strands of evidence supporting the efficacy of masks. The best benefit is for people who have COVID-19 to protect them from giving COVID-19 to other people, but you’re still going to get a benefit from wearing a mask if you don’t have COVID-19. You could still catch the virus through the membranes in your eyes, a risk that masking does not eliminate. What you want is 100 percent of people to wear masks, but you’ll settle for 80 percent. In one simulation, researchers predicted that 80 percent of the population wearing masks would do more to reduce COVID-19 spread than a strict lockdown. Studies have compared various mask materials, but for the general public, the most important consideration may be comfort. The best mask is one you can wear comfortably and consistently, said Chin-Hong. N95 respirators are only necessary in medical situations such as intubation. Surgical masks are generally more protective than cloth masks, and some people find them lighter and more comfortable to wear. The bottom line is that any mask that covers the nose and mouth will be of benefit." UCSF

@sharondiaz137 See previous comment. You have the liberal and NDP government to thank for universal health care and the CPP. Your employer contributes to that because it is mandated by the government.

What is the lie and how do you know that?

There's only one problem with your plan. Alberta is currently experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak. "More than 1,300 new COVID-19 cases identified in Alberta as hospitalizations continue to rise." Sept. 1, 2021 Edmonton Journal

"Far from unleashing a business-led boom, Harper has presided over the weakest economic era in Canada’s postwar history. For example, from 2006 through 2014 (not even counting the current downturn), Canada experienced the slowest average economic growth since the Great Depression (measured by the expansion of GDP after inflation and population growth). Harper wasn’t even close to the next-worst prime minister: another Conservative, Brian Mulroney." Toronto Star

The term "going postal" originated in the United States for a reason. No other country is even remotely competitive in the mass shootings Olympics. The United States surpassed 630 mass shootings in 2023, according to the Gun Violence Archive.

The reason for not doing a transplant on an unvaccinated patient is that transplant patients are immunocompromised. "Why Omicron Is a Dangerous Threat for Transplant Patients. For organ transplant patients and other immunocompromised individuals, the omicron variant ushered in a particularly fraught phase of the pandemic. The emergence of the omicron variant of COVID-19, which is more contagious and multiplies 70 times faster than its delta counterpart, has brought with it a potentially life-threatening period this winter for individuals who are elderly, immunocompromised or unvaccinated. One group that is particularly vulnerable but often overlooked is those who have received organ transplants." USA Today

For the same reason that we need an updated flu shot annually.

"The vaccine is one of the greatest achievements of mankind,” Trump said. “I came up with a vaccine — with three vaccines — all are very, very good … in less than nine months. It was supposed to take five to 12 years.” “And if you take the vaccine, you’re protected," Trump went on. "The results of the vaccine are very good. And if you do get it, it’s a very minor form. People aren’t dying when they take their vaccine. The vaccine worked, but some people aren’t taking it,” he said. “The ones that get very sick and go to the hospital are the ones who don’t take their vaccine.”

Welcome to science. When new information is available, the advice changes. See the weight loss industry for proof of that.

Alberta not proceeding with Premier Smith’s bill to protect COVID-19 unvaccinated. Smith won the leadership of the United Conservative Party this summer promising to make the change, adding last month that the COVID-19 unvaccinated were the most discriminated group she had seen in her lifetime.

Donald Trump speaks what's on his mind, often as soon as it appears there. And after winning his third-straight contest in Nevada Tuesday, Trump credited his "poorly educated" supporters, in part, for the win. "We won the evangelicals. We won with young. We won with old. We won with highly educated. We won with poorly educated. I love the poorly educated," he said during his victory speech.
2
Canada's pandemic response, including following health measures as well as getting vaccinated, was successful based on the only measure that counts: deaths. US deaths from COVID-19: over 1.1 million. Canadian deaths from COVID-19: over 52,000. Those annoying restrictions and the vaccines saved many lives. You should acknowledge that. The incessant whining about health measures, the ridiculous conspiracy theories about COVID-19 and the misinformation about the vaccines is tiresome.
