Instead of studying the effects during and leading up to the fin de siècle and having a consolidated & sound perspective on the overall aspect of all the forces at play then, people would rather not and have a splintered and skewed [and most likely promulgated by propagandists - but it's good so!...] perspective on what forces make up that era of time.
