  1. Red, white & black is certainly an esoteric formula, relating to certain schools of thought, like alchemy and the hermetic science. The 'pest' might be a reference to the 'Spinther' of the Gnostic schools. So that would tend to fit with the common notion of the nadir [water] with the zenith [fire], and then the 'pest' [Spinther] which is...well, I suppose that would be found in blood.

  4. Oh that's actually kind of interesting. Triple X was totally appropriated, wasn't it? I always thought there must be some subtext to the iconography, other than just "triple the X" which is rather juvenile, jejune even.
