Megalomania is also the term used in sociology to define a rampant out of control metropolis. Perfectly fitting, considering the left is like "wow, look at what our tax dollars do for those backwards conservative rural states, us city-kin are like savors of the new world, wow" and literally it's because of the metropolis (as it is, in it's "liberal" form) sucking dry the rural [Ruritania] and leaving it worse off so that people have to leave and go to the city to merely survive or fine greener pastures (which are becoming more and more grey). The Megalomania metro does not recognize what it is doing, so it sees it's "betterness" as something to be emulated; and it sees it's "success" as something to foist on the rural, so as to "not have to help the rural anymore". It's quite degenerated.
