@z3r0_35 Yeah, they outcompeted the US, and then the US went to them to sell them chips and other technology, to get a cut of the action. Both republicans and democrats.

@z3r0_35 That isn't a strawman. You say rules need to exist but in capitalism they simply don't. Capitalism =/= government. State capitalism is not the same thing as what a government enacts into law. Most capitalists use paralegal means to funnel money into the Cayman islands...they do this to secure their capital. That's part and parcel to capitalism. I guess what capitalists actually DO doesn't matter, though....Marxist took the media over? haha, no. Wrong. I don't see Marxism on TV. I see constant backlash against socialism from news media, for one thing...can't be Marxist and decry social progress. So...no.

PS: To them, you're the hostile foreign power. And the rest of the world agrees, it's US expansionism that we see more prevalent on the world-stage...in the middle east, etc. Vietnam. The list could go on and on. China is just basically saying no to England's Honk Kong [which was taken, and then won back], and they are investing in African labor [some of which is legitimate, or some of which is dubious; nevertheless, where it's legitimate to the workers' the workers' greatly enjoy having some money].

You are a walking talking contradiction. 2nd paragraph: Marx wrote books...there is more to reading Marx than becoming some kind of droid. Those are balled Tankies, and usually they are Marxist-Leninist. Not the same thing. Classical Marxism is just theory...Leninism is more political.

You value freedom, but freedom goes both ways...left and right. And you are trying to insinuate all of the left as "un-American" [where you have no evidence for that], which is in itself un-American. State control isn't the topic here. The topic here is your supposed "values".

@z3r0_35 No. And no; the Neo-cons and Neo-libs were not born out of socialism, they were born out of the dismay of socialism. They start stripping away their own peoples wants and the politics after the New Deal, changed. Wages have been stagnant ever since. Roosevelt sure was a nasty guy, and his nasty friends in the LSOE were sure influenced by his "take" on socialism, but because of the great network of unions and workers, they certainly got the productivity they so desired, if they were gonna be working for their nation anyway to support the war efforts in Europe. Eventually, this lost course, and of course, what people had bargained for in the New Deal was lost to time and politicians and their backers.

@z3r0_35 No. Where are you getting this information? Nah, don't answer that, just wondering. Ex-socialist? FDR was a socialist? no. Not at all. He inspired Fabian gradualists who are not quite Marxist, well, actually, not at all, but...he certainly didn't impress actual Marxian theorists. But in regards to the encroachment of economic globalism, well, that is capitalism already. Anywhere that didn't want to stay capitalists was attacked... literally - Just because at one point in America socialism was popular, doesn't mean that a: those disenfranchised by the outcomes of a poor socialism were the visionaries of current US politics [not by a long shot, what, not for another 30-40 years would it be before the Reagan era, from that point] and b: it doesn't mean that it was tenable as a self-managed socialism - not a mixed-model, not even state-socialism, not any of that. But self-managed socialism. [Also, the Warsaw Pact? what does that have to do with anything? yes, they had to fight anyone who wasn't capitalist...Russia, China, Vietnam, you name it.]
