Haters just troll the reviews and get a kick out of doing negative reviews. In some cases, there is a concerted effort by the competition or people that are carrying a grudge about someone and they will flood the reviews. Anything to bring down your review average. I know I was mixed up in finding you in Google. The first one I found said you were closed and lacked info, but in response to my email to you, you enlightened me as to that it was not your shop and then I found the right one. The other shop is close to your location too.

Dang, watched all the way to see how you did the pressure bleed. Then your phone call preempted it. Oops! but never mind, should have watched to the end.

It's noisy, I usually use earbuds to listen, partially deaf, but your voice and mic work exceptionally well together and I can hear you above the noise.

How do you know what the camera is seeing when you are working two hands and it is in a mount? You seem to be on top of it all the time. Some don't realize their camera has shifted until a ways into their filming. I never used a go pro and am curious as to how you do that.

That top hose is spooky. It's awfully close to the belt and pulley.
1
A couple tack welds and then a bunch of muffler patches. Growing up in Hawaii, mufflers never lasted and muffler patching, tape and epoxy was on most of the Maui cruisers.

Your dyslexia is kicking in. 311,386 miles, not 311,368 miles as you said. Amazing the details that your viewers can spot. π

My Dodge Dakota has been losing a coil every so. I swapped them out when I replaced the valve cover gaskets. Each time the exhaust would do a sputter with a suck back thing. I hung a napkin over it and it sucked in and out. When the coils are good, it doesn't suck in. I pulled my coils and measured the input resistance. If they were about 7.5 ohms, they were okay. If one dropped down, usually about 5 ohms, that indicated it was bad. I had kept my original coils and did a resistance check on each one and marked it for future reference. So as one craps out, I was able to go back to the good older ones and replace it. I was doing the coil swap thing and after finding the input resistance dropping on the bad ones, I just pulled them and measured them. So far I've done that with three coils.

You must be careful with your use of brake kleen. I would hate to see your shop go up in smoke.

With a light in the obd connector, you Snap On diag machine would be good at twice the price. lolπ¨βπ§π¨βπ§

15:32 nice wood!

I have like three of those small chargers for emergency use. The most I ever got out of one was a one time start. The rest, despite fully charging them, wouldn't even start a car. Beside those small ones, I've had the bigger battery packs, some with air compressor and similar issues. I don't have much faith in them now. I also have issues with the small stand alone portable air compressors. They barely handle putting air and the last one I had, slime brand, it's gauge runs about 12 psi hirer than it is. I've been running my tires about 10 psi lower than they should be.

A rubber glove over the exhaust pipe during an air pressure smoke test, would show by inflating the glove with air and smoke. It's surprising that the intake valves are leaking.

We've become a TikTok 60 second culture. Your videos are longer, but it's good content and not made up like many shirts, reels, TikTok or whatever. I've become a short attention span type. But your lengths are great. I struggle to sit through an entire 2 hr movie these days.
1
Sitting here and holding my breath as you struggle with various parts of this operation.

Wandered around an old car dealership down the street that has been abandoned for awhile. They have some nice lift racks to display cars in and a lift, similar to yours, bolted to the cement in the back. If I can find the property owner, maybe I can "clean up" the left over mess in their property. Sure could use a good lift.

Does troy owe you like an indentured servant, with all the work you do for him? π
1
Ray, when you edit these, do you sit through the whole video? It seems like you would have to in order to make the various edits that you do. Considering how long your original video time is, it must be like living your life in real time and then in playback. I have a tough time sitting and watching my own videos. But I don't do much editing, except to combine a few clips into one.

17.10 the ominous sighting of a kid unit.
1
Careful Ray. The Wife Unit has a whole lot of followers of her own and hidden within yours. Ya gotta be nice to her or the Reeee will never stop.

I was wondering, but that's what I figured.

When you move to less physical work, you can launch a remote video troubleshooting course. Sit in an office and connected to the customer's camera to coach them through the job. π

Ah man! I wanted to see what the brake fluid vacuum machine looked like.
1
Now what?
1
Just thinking that an outside lift might be nice. Looking at the bottom of this jeep, it would be nice to have it lifted outside and a power washer to attack the ancient grease, oil and dirt, before having to work on it.
1
The coming out πΈ video.
1
Boy oh boy! I would love to be able to power wash all the underneath of that vehicle engine. So much oil and junk built up.
1
Pretty active garage. Always sounds like it's a party going on. π

21:04 your advice about the device.

1/4" gun doesn't have the kahunasπ. I believe it is cajones. Kahunas is Hawaiian for medicine man. Being from Hawaii, it struck me π€£.

I drove my Dodge Dakota for awhile after replacing my headlights with new led bulbs. It would quickly blink on left turn signals and normal blink on right turns. I went to get my state inspection and realized a driver's side front bulb was out. Replaced it and it went back to slow blinking on left turns. Someone told me it was the different current draw from the ked bulbs that caused it, so I just went with that. Now I know it does that when a turn signal light is out. You verified that today with the car you took to the shop.

I'm curious if prior to ever filming your work, did you talk to yourself in your mind the same way it did you aquire that ability after filming. I noticed your earliest videos, you were not as talkative, but maybe you just didn't verbalize your thoughts as much. I do this a lot, but more so since watching your channel.

Red rider. But I know you want the Silverado color. Maybe Silver Streak

You need a night cleanup crew to come in. Kind of looking like it was a frantic day at Rays today.

I'm at 39:37, but wondering about the wire that went into the old differential. What was it for and will it be used again?

45:06 just watching this is giving me PTSD from when I tore into my dakota trans.

My dad had a nice El Camino and let me use it. This was on Maui and I was young and dumb, about 21. I was headed off to the airport to pickup people coming in for my wedding the next day. On the way through Kihei, another drive pulled out from a side road in front of me and I crashed right into the side and totaled the front end.π’ My poor dad lost a few cars from having seven kids that all became drivers.
1
That was perfect timing. The green subscribe button and the phone all when you pressed it.

I see that a lot at Wawas around here. People pull up to the pumps and park. Go into pay for gas or whatever, but don't come back to the vehicle for quite a while. Usually with an arm full of food and drinks. Come on people gas and go. Park somewhere else if you are good ng inside.
1
11:38 I'm confused. You pulled the injectors out, put them to the side and then said you didn't plan to reuse the injectors. So were those new injectors?
1
You said it was the longest they had, so it would not have happened, except to save time, gas and bolt money. Hope it works out.π’
1
Yep, carbon fiber in the pad is the thing now. I did power stop carbon fiber pads, rotors and their calipers. Works great.
1
Where did the Jaguar go that was on the corner lift?
1
What was that tool? Part socket wrench and driven by your electric wrench?
1
Seeing you and Lauren sitting in the truck and my mind flashed forward a few decades and an elderly version of the two of you, just enjoying a ride to the scrap yard. You two are a great couple.

I am perplexed. I was watching this video on my laptop, but can't find anywhere to leave comments. I had to find it on my phone to leave a comment.

I changed a front one on my Kia Sportage and am hoping to never change the back one. I did cut the wire on the front one, even with the special offset O2 sensor socket.

The heights are not so scary, it's just the fall that's scary. π

This is a long the line of one of my comments a few videos ago. It would be nice to drop money into a vehicle that actually enhances it and not just to keep it running normal. I've spent a lot of money on cars this last year to make sure my grandson can get to aircraft mechanic school and nearly all is just to put it back to normal. Although, a new set of brakes pad, calipers and rotors, as well as a full set of tires, does make it seem better.

Yikes! Why??
