22:23 I've been watching this video cast to my big TV, I'm usually watching on my phone. I found that with the bigger screen, I was watching you disconnect that ride height sensor plug and actually holding my breath.😊😊 Some of your videos can be so suspenseful.

Red flags can be very small. He said he felt uncomfortable about it. That may have been the time to think a moment, although with the camera running and click ticking, that may figure into it. He was also surprised that it showed up so quickly. Maybe another red flag. Being a Friday, the customer might have been pressuring the shop to get it back for the weekend, rather than waiting for Monday.

I was wondering why the wobbly didn't come out during the bolt removal. I just figured there wasn't enough room. I love my wobbly, but my grandson doesn't and will do things the hard way to avoid using them. Hmm? Tool bias.

Land Rover and bike racks. Upwardly mobile type. Spend money on hobbies and play, not on vehicle maintenance, despite the cost of said vehicle.

Great car for the Philippines.
1
Looks like the tie rod and other rubber bushing are approaching end of life, maybe even surpassed it.

Bored? Not me. But, if it gets a bit tedious, then I go and follow your links to Amazon and take up time. By the way, is there a one stop spot to look at all the links you have throughout your videos? I've seen some things in a post and then can't find them later.

You have come so far with everything. I don't envy all the work ahead that you have, but it's a good feeling to know what you have to do and to get it done. If I was closer, I would take that PT off your hands. They make no financial sense, but I'm starting to like working on them.

17:35 inquiring minds want to know. Did you leave a camera running facing out from the garage or did you open the gate, run over and set up the camera and go back to drive the car in, in order to get this shot?
1
Coolant looks like rusty water. Considering how much work it is to change a water pump, I am careful to use only quality coolant and keeping it in shape.
1
The Ferd people used you to find the problem and now their cousin's friend will do it "cheaper". At least until they come limping back and asking you to fix the repair.
1
Gonna peel that nut, right off of that bolt. Sung to the tune of "Wash that man right out of my hair".
1
I like that ratchet idea and pulling the motor forward. A good example of working smarter, not harder.

7:08 Bob oh boy, can you imagine if we never did recycling. It's amazing how much crap men and women have to dispose of.

I had new pads, rotors and calipers on my 2004 Dodge Dakota and the brakes felt stiff, just not right. Bled it over and over, but no change. I ordered a new master cylinder, booster and all the brake lines, mine are original steel ones and are crusty and rusty. I had a core return due for the booster. So I replaced the booster only. I had to learn about getting the shaft to the master cylinder aligned right, but Man oh man! With the new booster the truck will stop on a dime and I could use my little toe to press the brake pedal, it is that responsive. I never realized the difference the booster would make. I did a booster check by pumping it with the engine off, holding the pedal down and starting it. The pedal sunk down and I could tell the booster worked. Just not as well as the new one does. Now I have to find time to replace all the lines. I'm not looking forward to that job.

Black market is a great place to sell engine covers. Not!
1
You need to dip that truck in lubricant 😊.
1
Not cool, not cool at all, to say the least. Luckily your face wasn't down there.
1
I've rarely seen any bump stops that are not deteriorated. I also notice most, if not all are a part of the frame. You mentioned you weren't changing them because of the time to get hold of them. Have ever actually changed them? Has anyone replaced them. It seems it would require a modification involving cutting the old one off and drilling to fit new ones on.
1
Sounds like a school marching band in the background at the end of the video.
1
My hearing aids could hear that bearing grind. Good catch. Another video later.
1
My first thought too!
1
Sounds like a diesel. 😊
1
I seem to have missed why you are working on this car after firing the customer previously.
1
I thought it also, but he does very well one handed and he does set up the camera in a good position when he needs two hands. So I would say the more options the better, but he's doing better than many others on YouTube with filming
1
Using a torch on a vehicle with gas and oil everywhere and a gas tank, not too far away, always seems spooky to me.
1
Wonder how much that used pan was? Might be good to recondition it for the next Jaguar that comes in with a bad pan. Of course it may probably take up space in the shop for an eternity. But then again, it's Florida, there may be many more driving around there.

The PT is the cheapest running of my three vehicles and actually a fun ride. I've spent a lot of money on keeping my cars running, mostly in the last year for my grandson to get to school and work, but compared to what I would have paid for new car payments, required servicing to maintain the warranty, insurance and such, I am still spending less money and own all three vehicles.
1
It's crazy how the camera and lots of lumens, make the dirt, rust and other flakes of debris visible as they fly out in all directions.
1
Between the sudden images of the Wife Unit within this video and then as I paused a video was presented to me that I thought was a Rainman Ray video, but it kept taking me to some other channel. I thought someone had taken over my YouTube, then realized the other video was a customer that had his oil changed on the Audi at Ray's.
1
That Hyundai has a pretty cracked up dashboard. I wonder if they are prone to that or just too much Florida sun.
1
I've been trying to do work in the yard, but also watch your videos. I even had my earbuds going and listening to the video like a podcast. It does leave something to be desired as a podcast. It's interesting, but I keep stopping to see what you're talking about.
1
Watching the news here in Virginia and lots of crews and supplies, as well as locally based Mercy Chefs with lots of food to cook up for people. I hope the shop holds up nicely. Take care.
1
I like how you used the lift to get the car off the truck.
1
Not backlash, but a four wire trailer type connector could have been spliced in, instead of hardwired.
1
Happy day of birth Ray man.
1
Curious as to why you seem to want to use a ratchet, instead of a breaker bar? Granted the ratchet may have a warranty, but isn't that what the breaker bar is built for?
1
Talking your way through these videos must help relieve the stress and tension that builds up after hours of stressful work. If you didn't, you would probably explode about the time you got home.
1
Awhile back in my comment, I asked for ideas for that wall. I think it should be reserved for shameless self promotion. A big sign like your sign-on logo with with the name and your picture would be nice. Maybe even a space for a wife unit logo to help to shamelessly promote her too.
1
Yep, blue towels, paper towels, shop cloth towels. If not in my hand, in a pocket or within reach.
1
I've watched a YouTube video from a one armed mechanic. It's amazing that he can do things that most of us would struggle with using both hands.
1
Good brake jobs take quite a while to do properly. Just maintenance is time consuming.
1
Is it standard to not have a fan and clutch fan?
1
Will it do a lot of cycling? On and off if it's close to the trigger point? I wonder if a delay function might be in order?

I watched a video on a jungle that was deforested and someone made a deal to dump all the orange rinds from a local orange juice factory. They did it for years and someone saw it and Reeeeee!, they made a huge issue, protested the dumping, finally got it shut down. Years later the scientists that originally cut the deal to dump the rinds, went back and almost couldn't find the spot. The jungle had completely engulfed the rinds and in fact, that area had a greater diversity of plants, insects and animals, than the adjacent original forest. Karen's and Kevin's at work.😅

She was obviously a rookie at that scam, for sure, for sure. I love watching scammer paybacks almost as much as rainman rays repairs.
1
Curious if anyone here knows if a 2001 non turbo can be converted to a turbo using 2004 and up turbo parts?
1
Been a fan for awhile, spent many hours just binging on your channel. I fell, fracturing my tibia in two spots. I now have lots of time to watch your channel for the next few weeks. Keep them coming in your two channels and the Wife Unit channel. Luckily all my vehicles are repaired for the moment and no wrenching is needed.
1
I'm intrigued now. That was from an auction and you mentioned before about cars to be sold. Do you have a deal with a customer to check and/or repair cars they bought at auctions for resale? That sounds like a sweet work on it when you can type of deal.
1
I wonder if the old front tires might have been adequate to replace the sidewall punctured tire. Maybe the tread wasn't good enough to reuse. I have had a few non repairable sidewall tires and some almost brand new. it pissed me off, but not the tire guys fault.
