too bad 95% of the males are still misogynist and racist... the friendliness and respect are artificial and only reserved for a select group of people, like other wealthy males. I wouldn't even go there for a holiday and avoid all those countries like the plague.
1
@anasibnsami we are condescending because your culture is uncivilized as long as it oppresses women and gay people. you can deny that all day long, but we know it's a fact.
1
and yet half the population there believes the earth is like 6600 years old..... while living in HILLS THAT WERE FORMED 600 MILLION YEARS AGO
1
How is that even legal to make a 2nd steering wheel with some duct tape and rubber bands, americans are crazy folk
1
What great guys, I have been to Rome a few times and definitely will go again., will try to find Franchino's food recommendations

They look like a modern family with traditional costume for the women (note how it's always the women that have to wear traditional, while the men just wear jeans and an adidas polo..... same in Iran) That's what I have against these cultures, they have always this patriarchal smell attached to it with a hint of misogynism. but I certainly respect their pacifism and many of their values. I love how the little boy (5 or 6 years old at most) found a solution for the ball in the water. He just ran back to the house and put his boots on. Their childhood is amazing , I am sure.

America has always been a dumpster , wild west, free for all country but because of it;s immense wealth in natural resources, a minority of civilization could develop the country into the wealthiest and most powerful nation on earth. But it's civilization was a always a thin layer of gold leaf and never rock solid. Fortunately there are always diamonds in the rough, like this Rock guy and his organization. And I say this as a real non-religious guy. I think their relationship with a Christ figure is all collective wishful thinking and projection, but I applaud their compassion for those that need it the most.

@سلطانالدوسُري-ظ2ل of course, my wife can walk anywhere in my country (west europe) at night and my teenage daughter (if i had one of that age) could go to the club with her girlfriends and return home at 02:00 am. The chance that something bad happens is not 0, but it is extremely low, so everybody just live their lives. it's like the chance that you can be hit by lightning in a thunderstorm. and when you don;t need to buy a car for your wife or any other equipment because she stays at home 24/7 and can't have her own life, of course you have money leftover to spend on gold bracelets. which is a stupid thing to buy anyway, completely useless. I'd rather have a sailboat or scuba diving gear or something else that is fun to use. buying expensive clothes and jewelry just to show off is a sign of insecurity and lack of purpose. People in the past had use for it, an easy method to store wealth, that you can take with you in case of wars or other calamities, but that is not needed anymore. (btw I know that woman can drive a car since a few years)

@melcraig9855 this indeeds sounds insane... even the poorest people here can afford a fridge.. if not a new one, you buy one from a thrift store or website for 2nd hand goods/

The school reminds me of the schoolhouses of Laura and Mary Ingalls from the books. Amazing that that still exists 150 years later.

So how does this work for Europeans? If I go on an extended holiday trip in Maine or New York and decide I would like to visit Toronto or Montreal , can I just drive there with my EU passport in my rental car or do I have to go through all kinds of paperwork first?
1
@diabloblanco88 lol, during the american slave trade era the jews didn't even have a nation, they were just scattered around part of all the countries I mentioned before. so you could have a dutch jewish trader or a french jewish trader, but that is like saying you could have a red haired trader or a blonde trader.
1
@diabloblanco88 I have never heard about a Farrakan, so I looked him up, based on his Amazon book list he seems to be a random religious nutter, sorry not interested.
1
@diabloblanco88 I couldn't have said it better, reading the works of demagogues is not educational.
1
@diabloblanco88 you aren't that erudite either are you? Blackadder is the name of a British comedy series written by Richard Curtis and Rowan Atkinson, it has nothing to do with my ancestry. (which is part german, part scottish and part dutch)
1
It's a crime that Titus has to pay $90 for just a phone line
1
@rucker69 that's just stupid. You look at others and learn from their strengths, and you ignore their weaknesses. If you can learn something, it doesn't mean they are perfect. But keep your head up your own ass thinking murica is the best, after all you are the poor sod that has to live there, not me....
1
@Camazotz57 you just described very well why gods are just inside your head, made by your brain (with the help of your church community, religions only thrive in groups) you have to come with this 'not material thing' idea because even religious people notice that nothing material ever happens by supernatural means, (although the holy books still speak of such things, like Jesus feeding thousands with 5 fishes) so they focus on vague stuff like peace of mind. I can get that just from walking or working in nature....
1
These people are the sweetest, but not for my ears. I need subtitles being only used to British english
1
@ByTheStorm what if the Dems are bad, but the Reps are even worse? if you get sick, either by the flu or by cancer, you still pick the lesser of the evils, right? Of course it would be better to not get sick at all, but you have to start the healing somewhere, and I think under biden that's easier than under trump. and then maybe in 4 years finally somebody younger can start building into a new political direction
1
I would love to own some of that quality furniture, do they export to Europe?
1
that mansion looks like an old Sierra murder mystery game I used to play 30 years ago. The Colonel's Bequest.
1
@bigmike208McDizzle sounds Dutch or Danish to me
1
The great author Bill Bryson is from Des Moines, Iowa (because somebody had to) and he also describes a careless free roaming childhood, so I think that is an universal thing of the past, not a southern thing.
1
@singleman805 nobody cares if he is on youtube, the man is a great local guide and that is why Peter made a video with him
1
As an EU citizen borders are something from the past (I rarely go to Asia or the Americas) But we also have a migrant crisis and countries are increasing border security again, most recently Germany
1
I am not into bling bling people usually but I was pleasantly surprised by everybody involved in this video. I wish them all the best.
1
@lindatannock they were mostly walking on the part where cars park, not where cars drive, and besides hardy any traffic in those sleepy residential areas
1
@YouTubeCensorsMe I think she was more talking about the sister, but I am not an expert of British accents, I can't tell if it's really posh
1
@DT-123 ??????

I never realized SF has only 800K citizens, that's the size of Amsterdam! I expected like 2M
1
I replying two years later here on purpose, I really hope you have found improvements in your life and can share those with us to encourage others to do the same.
1
as long a you are a male with money you can. (I could but I don't want to)
1
top tip: go to a country that has both! safety and freedom. you will find many examples in the EU and also a few other countries around the world
1
who??? this is Harry Basil
1
@The_Ultimate_Ground_Of_Being whut? this radical offgrid lifestyle is not for me, but why are you so reluctant to believe that some other people like it, including women? The evidence is very easy to find, there are plenty of female youtubers showcasing genuine offgrid stuff. It's just silly to act like they don't exist.
1
Why are they riding tricycles instead of normal bikes? Some cyclists in the video were rather young and athletic, no need for a vehicle that is traditionally used by handicapped people at least here in europe)
1
I always play a little game with these videos, 'follow Peter on Google Maps' for example can you find the junction where he talks with the farmer at 8:00 . sometimes it;s easy. sometimes it;s a challenge. picking up clues from the interviews
1
@PeterSantenello well, I already notice that often the route makes 'no sense' so it;s challenging enough. (this is of course because you skip and edit bits when you make the final video, out of who knows how much footage filmed )
1
TV died 20 years ago.. it's all here now. as long as you have the discipline to block out the cheap rubbish and trash that is also plenty on the internet, the internet is a goldmine
