I haven't watched the whole video yet nor read the CIA report, but my first idea is, sure a basic diet with lots of grain and vegetables might be healthier than a fat, sugerly american diet. but the americans had the choice of eating healthy or unhealthy (you can argue if they really have a choice with the avalanche of advertisements that is thrown at them, but that is another discussion) If you aren't dirt poor, you certainly could eat very healthy in the USA. And you can choose from 10,000 products instead of the 20 products available in rural USSR.
