  9.  @LastBruhStanding  The fifth amendment does not allow you to pick and choose the questions you will or will not answer. It’s about subject matter. So if you do answer a question on the subject matter, you have waived your 5th amendment right on that subject and if you refuse to answer another question on the subject, you can then be held in contempt.

  10.  @vladintool  I’m not sure you understand the right. You may only invoke the 5th Amendment if you believe that answering the question could incriminate you in a CRIMINAL proceeding. So if the question is asked, “Did you fabricate property values in order to secure otherwise out of-reach loans?” and the witness responds by invoking the 5th, the only logical impression to be drawn is that even the witness knows they broke the law.

But to appease you, the same would become true if the question asked was “Did you sign the tax returns or bank loan applications? There’s no trick here. If you’re guilty, take the fifth.
