And instead of feeling worse, there's a lingering sense of hightened empathy and contentment. So if anything what you describe is not universal. I don't know what you mean with "feels good" either. For me MDMA doesn't "feel good" in the body, rather it makes one more sensitive. The main positive effect is the openness and empathy it creates and that's a "dragon" you should be chasing both when sober and under Molly.

I think for someone, who asks this question, Pinker's The Better Angels of our Nature is a good place to start. It's a while since I read it and I'm sure it has some inaccuracies, but the main points stand.
