The military was NEVER the place to find the best fighters or instruction on fighting. That was ALWAYS athletes. Why are catch wrestlers never winning adcc, in spite of the rules being much, much closer to how catch is typically practiced. In bjj there is still the gi, most ppl don't do much standup, no slams, etc. And STILL bjj practitioners beat catch wrestlers. Apart from that, there's no real difference. Any proper gym simply teaches what works. Grappling is grappling.

To think you could resist going down against a bjj practitioner is a bit thinking a boxer couldn't hammer fist you bcs he specializes in straight punches.
