Latest News Yeah, the problem with fossil fuels is not that we will run out, but rather the emission of greenhouse gases. That's why we should expand alternative ways of generating energy, like nuclear fission and wind turbines.

Kuk vult...

The worst thing are minor tremors, which are barely noticeable.
1
Who pays the biologists and engineers in your "open source" world?
1
No, the problem was that high risk investments were considered low risk. Or perhaps both.
1
@Ikreisrond It's you, who doesn't understand what he's saying. You think money is both "mental", "virtual" and not "real". That's on the level of sophistication of a ten year old.
1
Feeling like you've learned something is different to actually being secure in your knowledge. Veritasium's thesis was about this.
1
>>diversity is the key to survival, GMO are the contrary of that<< ??? Modification creates more diversity, not less. There is huge databanks for seeds.
1
Of course you have a patent on what you develop. Otherwise NOTHING could ever be developed. What you raise are problems with monopolies, a lack of competition.
1
That is total bullshit. Nothing can achieve the same effects as genetic modification.
1
A certain crop, that could feed millions, doesn't grow in a certain region - maybe due to the soil or climate. How does your "permaculture" change that? How does your "permaculture" make plants immune to a certain kind of pest, endangering the sustenance of a region?
1
What does that have to do with banking?
1
How can a thoysand people upvote such a retarded comment? He has given no reason whatsoever for this divide. Why would people segregate? Only a handful of religious lunatics would force their children to live with preventable diseasea and those would be soon immunized by sexual reproduction.
1
There is no reason to believe that any of these modifications would be unhealthy. Nonetheless they were tested.
1
Also you should be allowed to take drugs. They should be regulated and available to adults.
1
If you are sad that technology gets better and things no longer have to be done by humans, then that is a problem with society. A rather big one. It's on society to change and adapt, so everyone can enjoy the fruits of technological progress.
1
I hope my children won't have to inherit my shortsightedness and my laziness. ; D A great video!
1
Evolution is central to biology, no matter what your preacher claims.
1
All of those catastrophes happened in old reactors with inferior security measures. We should expect ever fewer accidents.
1
Wait... how do you work? How do you know when anyone's birthday is?
1
A fictional character is not a "person in history". He mentioned the siege of Troy for the mythical aspect.
1
@Vitorruy That's a lie. I have nothing more to say to you. Get a grasp on reality before replying to me.
1
@Galvanized You are simply lying. No evolutionary biologist would say something that ridiculous. >>Humans stopped evolving after they halted the course of Natural Selection of their own free will.<< That is an insult to the intelligence of who ever you talk to. I feel insulted that you think I would believe such garbage.
1
@itanimulli No, Jesus didn't found Christianity. Did none of you guys ever go to school?!
1
@Voez You actually believe that Jesus of Nazareth was the "founder" of Christianity, hm? Yeah I'm tired of playing the substitute teacher. -_-
1
ATOMIC SHARK The moral advise of religion is no better than the scientific accuracy of it's myths.
1
We are already well on our way to meet the millennium goals.
1
I find universes giving birth to daughter universes even more uplifting than the big crunch. A huge family of universes.
1
Because they have been duped by capitalists into believing that you receive only what you "earn".
1
@zaneyates5704 Nah, the worst one was about consciousness. Or rather it wasn't about consciousness.
1
Kill some fish. Scare some whales.
1
Damn, I believed in evolution and Newtonian physics and atoms, but I have never considered that you cannot mix a dog and a cat and get a kangaroo. It's all lies! Allahu Akbar!
1
Cruz Florero I have no answer to cats and dogs not mixing into kangaroos. I've seen the light! Hare Krishna!
1
Gene editing will be as much of a moral imperative as eugenics. There is no excuse for forcing person to live with preventable diseases. If we force someone into life, it should at the very least me sure that he is as healthy as our technology allows.
1
That is the most hilariously ignorant thing I've heard in a long time. You are an absolutely insane misanthrope, who obviously projects his own stupidity on everyone else.
1
@NuclearLama By that idiotic reasoning rams should be ruling the world by now.
1
There is no "goal", it's a mass hysteria with people parroting each other's bullshit. It's also not just the US government. It's reporters, doctors, etc the world over.
1
@MySerpentine One dude claimed that. The "war on drugs" is just part of a general hysteria about drugs that's way older than Nixon.
1
Consciousness cannot have been selected for because it has no effects. It must be an accidental byproduct of evolution. The video completely misses the point.
1
"Big tobacco" is losing here, because the vapes don't contain tobacco.
1
Everything useful can be used for evil.
1
FunkyTikiGod You are getting confused. Matter is not alive, but a structure might be called alive.
1
@victorcadillac5075 Comments like this show that drugs lost the war on drugs. You are have all fully bought into the propaganda.
1
You mean YOU are dumb.
1
@schrenk-d The USA didn't gain jack shit. They threatened an embargo against Japan, because the Japanese were horrible slavers and murderers and torturers of innocents. The Japanese attacked the USA simply because the latter gave a fuck about their victims and that way they brought defeat upon themselves.
1
That's admirable dedication to truthfulness.
1
What would be the point in only simulating human consciousness? If anything, you'd want to simulate a whole universe or at least a bit of spacetime with physics as best as you can. All you gain by simulating only minds in a pseudo world is a lot of suffering.
1
Ok, let's just all surrender to the tyrants of the world. You don't just pull your pants down and bend over, you're pulling the pants of other victims down.
1
Why should we be able to see whether other star systems are inhabited?
1
Yeah, speaking phylogenetically you are a fish. So? Those boundaries only exist in a snapshot of life at the moment. Mammals are nested within amphibians and amphibians within fish. Ever heard of the "tree of life"?
