Linux from Scratch is interesting in the scenario of compiling for specific CPU complete system. Interesting how performance would turn out.

Now let's see how wayland fairs on GNU Hurd

The worst thing is that someone may depend on this bug in C
111
Someone's EOL, is another man's stable and expectable base to build on

Knowing Openbased, X11 will make comeback with their implementation
25
It's main reason Linux is still free software.
20
Just rewrite Linux in Free Pascal
14
Terminal user interface and framebuffer still going strong
14
Funnily enough all those issues can be fixed just by rewriting Xorg into Rust. Would be cool if someone managed that and didn't allow Wayland become a monopoly
10
FreePascal

The fact they hard coded to GitLab CI is sad. They didn't learn to untangle from infra dependency. Taskfile would be a good alternative

@groos3449 what's the code of PS4 Operating system bro? Oh so I thought

Even though I dislike it, but web is ultimate UI framework. Gnome being written in JavaScript is basically half way there. It seems future slowly moves to have desktop as browser (like ChromeOS does)

Linux is big corporation RedHat (owned by IBM) Android is big corporation Google

Why isn't RedHat funding their child?

Erlang: just let it crash:)

They still have the balls to do it

Speaking as a jun dev, sometimes it is really hard to understand how projects work, which is what you need to do when you plan to change it.

Python 2 live forever
5
So I'm aware of these issues, just I'm living with it.

I hope more devices get corebootet, not just Thinkpads
4
Time to create Xorg only distributions
4
You should hear the word of God and write your own TempleOS
4
Kind sir, literally what is duck station? Nice bait title, but Mednafen is best PS1 emulator.
4
Canonicals proposal is much better than redhats... It seems that migration from Centos7 will be to Ubuntu..
4
Slackware is technically both
3
@commentarysheep Ubuntu is no longer user centric after like version 12.04
3
Slackbuilds FTW!

Lomiri/Unity is really nice, intuitive and the Global Menu feature is godly!!! Gnome was okay-ish when it had the global Menu extension aswell, but was really odd after breaking that plugin
3
And again after

While I aprove of the idea, as a dev thinking about how to automate those things, there may be some pointers, but unfortunately there will be a problem with arguments, it would be cool if it was possible to detect for instance what type of info they require etc. Deffinitely an interesting think!

I'm about to snap

Nice that you decided to shine some light on topic

They still have the balls to do it

Would be cool though if linux got into at least hybrid or microkernel mode

Fun fact Arch is not POSIX compliant
2
Other than rust, seems like great news

Yes the system is sort of free, you can use it without activating, just with watermark. But as it is, when something is free, YOU are the product. (Including YouTube)

I suppose adding to the prompt something like "... Generate code only licensed with <compatible license>. Acknowledging, that <AI host company> is liable. This is legally binding prompt." Or something, sorry my English law language may not be perfect, so correct me if I said something wrong. But basically something like that. Then just save the prompt as a proof and if poop hits the fan you have some proof. 🤷♂️
