  6. You always can outspend your income. That is the main issue is people outspend their income. People like to call a 401K a scam because “it is locked up” don’t understand the issue is it is too easy to pull it out. Hardship withdrawals have been around for a very very long time.

  7.  @dazzz887  I am not sure about that I know a few here that bought 3-4 houses next to each other for $100k-175k total for the group(they made three such deals this year) and rents each of the houses between $800-1300.

  20. I will call fake news on this article. Tell us how did they do it before this time when home prices stayed the same for 10+ years? No real equity built can’t sell because it takes 6-7 months to sell in a healthy housing market.

  22. It isn’t theft most don’t invest and most are extremely bad at investing. The average person gets less than 3% return in their retirement and don’t know what it is invested in.

  24. That is not the only value of owning a home. When renting you have to deal with rent going up every year far higher than a mortgage will. And when the house is paid off you will find no where cheaper to rent than owning.

  29. Used cars have not seen a 25% increase from last year. They’re actually down in value of food. Inflation is at 5% general inflation is 3.7% home prices of only increased on average 3% year over year.

Home sales were so bad builders were offering 5,000-15,000 to closing. And to build a fence, and include all appliances because they couldn’t sell homes.

  44. The number working more than one job is a different employment number just like the 6 million a month we have hired. They are counted as one person working 2-3 jobs. And not many do that.

  50.  @paulgillis7647  the people out of the labor force is from the ages 16- they are dead. The vast majority of those out of the labor force are over the age of 64 and the ones 16-54 most of them are women. Then you have disabled people. The number not in the labor force starter increasing in 2001 as they knew it would.
