@Gabonro Lemon socialists isn't a real thing, and just a term made up to defend capitalism.
There is no such thing as a capitalist that wants competition. Competition is bad for profits. Having no competition means you make all the profit, and that the entire point of capitalism, to make as much profit as possible. Always has been.
Those small business owners that you think dont want monopolistic practices, just weren't able to compete well enough. If they could have a monopoly, they would take it in a heart beat.
Sorry to break it to you, but whatever utopian capitalism you believe in is completely impossible due to what capitalism actually is.
The closest the human race ever got to a free market was from about the 10th century to the 14th century, in the area around the Indian Ocean. They took the free market very seriously, and the Indian ocean was relatively peaceful due to it. War was not allowed in the Indian ocean because that was meant for trade. They believed the market was a form of mutual aid since one person could never be good enough at all the skills necessary to survive in their, at the time, technologically advanced world.
What they were not is capitalists nor was what they practiced capitalism.
What ruined their free market was the European imperialist capitalists who came in and brought war and violence to the Indian Ocean, bombarding cities that never before had to deal with that.

@HomemadeBrownies1 "Purchasing sovereign territory is completely normal. It’s how most of America came to be part of the US."
Except they didn't do that. The parts they bought from France or Russia, was stolen land from the Indigenous peoples. Then all the land USA bought from Indigenous peoples, were all sales under threat of genocide. The Euro-Amerikans also ignored the Indigenous peoples way of making decisions, which was through consensus, and instead they stole an Indigenous person from the group and got them to sign the bill of sale without the Indigenous nations ever coming to a consensus over it. They would not have sold their sacred lands. Along with this, USA broke every single treaty they made with the Indigenous peoples, which should nullify the sales in the first place.
In truth, USA got the land from the Indigenous peoples by going to village to village slaughtering every man, woman, and child.
So no, USA did not purchase a single acre of sovereign territory. They violently stole it.
So stop spreading that gross myth that completely ignores the actual history. Remember, history is written by the victors, so if you want a true image of history, you have to get it from the losers, which you arent doing. You are getting your history from the violent colonizer.
