  3. basically humans like convenience if someone were to pick from shopping at their local store or going across the world for another store... well logically you would think that going to the next door store makes sense. but nope we would rather go across the world through hell or high water to go to that store overseas. this means the local selections are... non existent.

  4. there are other issues to housing cost. we don't build fast enough or people are all fixated on the single family type houses... im sorry but those take up way too much space. even in california their idea of building 4 units to one lot is still not enough. so we have more people than before and it's not going to stop. we don't build fast enough. we also can't build affordable due to material financing and labor cost being more expensive. nor are we building apartment style housing tall enough. i mean look at asia they build their apartment rises 20-40 storeis high and they still have expensive housing because their cities are packed like sardines. america isn't even packed in like sardines and our housing is already very high. so the easiest would be to shrink the population

  6. if you were making $320,000 a year and you got your house say years ago when it was much cheaper than maybe. i've heard of boomer small business owners mention they make like you say $320,000 a year now but they got their house for say $100,000 decades ago and tore it down to rebuild it up from ground up and it cost them another $100,000 - $200,000.00 over the duration of construction... then that would make sense. but nowadays if you were to buy a multi million dollar house you can't pass the 5x threshold on leverage. so you make $320,000 you can't buy a house more than $1.5 million and $1.5 million can barely get you a 5 beddroom house much less a 7 bathroom house.

  11. you think? the only entities that are basically immune to the laws of economics are government agencies and that's because they have monopoly of service and they rely on tax money... private busineses are at most risk to law of economics and have to do everything in their power just to stay alive due to market demands and competition. this guy thinks he's a government agency ? lol

AI, automation, supply of labor outstripping demand of labor. low price imports. also regarding hte power of the longshoreman union etc. their situation is not the norm. their job can't be offshored but it can be automated which they're trying to fight but it's a losing battle because in the end the ports will be automated with or without their consent.

  46.  @silentwitness536  i was referring to what we call loneliness today which is lack of "friends" or human contact. which was not athing in the 50s even with the ww2 vets. i can bet most of them had more than enough friends to keep them preoccupied outside of work.

  50. actually you can't blame everything on the boomers. i do mean EVERYTHING. sure they got their faults. but it's just a matter of time. the post ww2 economic boom was unsustainable it was reliant on very specific circumstances to prop it up. for example every major power out there being bombed to rubble... that just bought america 25 years of time which coincided to the slide in the 1970s when americas economic competitors were recovered from ww2.. global competition. someone will want what you have.
