  7. This, never giving credit, to outsiders, for anything. Do any Chinese people know, that the western allies liberated them from the Japanese. Without then keeping, what was liberated. Actually allowing the Chinese people, a chance of their own freedom.

If we send money to China, some of it goes to a military, that is threatening, the whole world. Sending our money says, occupying Tibet is ok. Etc.

  15. Lin, Lets say it's your opinion, vs my opinion, and of no value. First remember, my comments are not against the Chinese people, but about the government. For a valid answer to this discussion. How about you and I. Go to the source, and ask an ethnic Tibetan, Uighur, Mongolian, or even a citizen of Hong Kong. How they feel, about the CCP. Or even, people from the countries, that China is having border disputes with right now. What they have to say. Will it be similar, to what is reported in the Chinese media? If you haven't done this, please don't respond.

(especially the ones, that want you to pay for everything, and to be driven around, even though they are living on rent, from their properties)

  19. So, how does the message of free debate, and inquiry gain traction? My wife and stepson moved from China 14 years ago. They can only sing the praises, of the wonderful CCP. Anything can be overlooked, because of the,“universal“ prosperity. My assertion is, if the CCP was so great. They had a chance to industrialize, in a greener, cleaner, more fair manner. That avoids most of the mistakes of other countries. They did the opposite.

  20.  StrategicFooyoo  Hi, my point was, we know better now. Western economies modernized, when we knew less about, destroying rivers, the air, and other cultures. China is doing this in modern times. There is no excuse for destroying the planet, for a few bucks. 500 more coal burning plants are up for development, in China. Is it truly a modern country, if they can do organ harvesting, on groups they don’t like? Fish everyone else’s seas, because you polluted yours? And you go to jail, if you discuss these things? A legal system with no due process.

  21. I get a kick out of people saying, revolution is coming. Not anytime soon. The average Chinese citizen, keeps their head down, as a survival tactic. They are also afraid of the chaos of a break up. We need to spread the word in the west, to avoid joining the non Han fate. I’m not keen on mandatory summer camp.

It's worse than East Germany, where anyone could be a snitch. This is why we don't want mass surveillance, and Chinese tech, in our western countries.

  43. We all know, that the CCP controls the narrative. What about, some of the mythology? Like how, family means more than in other cultures. Famine, Mao’s reign, new wealth, a narcissistic government, all create, a fair amount of dysfunction in families. I keep hearing how Chinese families are so close and supportive. What I hear, contradicts this notion. My wife, and stepson, are from Beijing. Her stories, and her, from the mainland, Chinese acquaintances. Have horrendous tales, of jealousy, abuse, and neglect. I don’t know if it’s worse, than from other places. But it sure isn’t better. Thank you Winston, for your reporting, of your experience. It will take many voices, to silence, the ministry of truth.
