  10. Republicans in general have no ability to empathize with other people unless they have some personal connection to them. Former Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen was one of only a handful of pro-LGBT Republicans in Washington. Then her kid came out publicly as transgender. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush had been hard-core on criminalizing illicit drug use until his daughter got caught writing her own prescriptions. The whole concept of "try to put yourself in someone else's shoes" does not mean anything to most Republicans.

  13. I think the secretary of state should recuse when they are running for office. Brian Kemp successfully purged voter rolls before he became governor of Georgia. However, I think the recusals should be codified into law first, so that it does not matter which party or person is secretary of state; they would be obligated by law to recuse in elections where they themselves are on the ballot.

But NBC Nightly News reported only that Clinton said the Russians were supporting Gabbard, not the quote about Gabbard being a "Russian asset". But consider that a system where people only have what they need would absolutely require fewer resources than capitalism which demands companies sell more and more each quarter. I am not advocating for Marxism; I am just pointing out the absurdity of your comment that Marxism is somehow based off of unlimited goods produced by capitalism. Furthermore, you seem to think this is an all or nothing scenario: either capitalism or Marxism. Do some research. There are many other systems, and many degrees of systems which are neither totally capitalist nor totally Marxist.

Instead of killing racially-inclusive affirmative action for the entire country, Clarence Thomas should renounce his degrees, resign from the Supreme Court, and get a job which requires only a high school diploma. That way, he could clear his "conscience" without harming anyone else.
