  2. Who supports and follows those leaders? Locals have always had agency there, especially in areas never effectively colonized. No corrupt leader has an army without corrupt followers, nor support for that army without a local population to recruit from. Tribal rivalries long predate the modern era.

Outsiders tend to ignore how utterly worthless their opponents were as a group (individual valor is irrelevant as it does not win wars). The Kabul government squandered every advantage and deserved to lose. They were amazingly bad at everything, even worse than the government the Soviets left behind (because it was also worthless, the Soviets were not driven out by force contrary to myth and left in good order). Outsiders ignore that Sharia has worked for these cultures for hundreds of years. It is their way and their land belongs to them. Those not liking the arrangement are free to outfight and outlast those they disagree with while replacing the order they offer their traditional societies. So far the Afghan tribal societies have ejected every foreign interloper from the British (twice) and Soviets to the Coalition. It's time for outsiders to find another hobby.

  4. SSI was not intended to be enough to live on, but reality is investing is far too complex for people of normal (low) intelligence and abilities. SSI was intended as a floor for those who failed at life but today that group is much larger with the displacement of wealth to the rich elites who own the country. The average American stopped learning in high school rendering them angry sometimes but politically incompetent. The French take Liberty seriously while Americans are conformist superstitious slaves by choice with predictable results.

These specials always highlight non-Americans but ignore the people they displace and the other effects on border and other communities flooded with them. Why is this guy more important than immigrant crime? His killing is a Mexican problem. Lock down the border like the Berlin Wall, not in the current ineffective manner.

  12. Do not buy mobile homes on land you do not own, ever. There is no law against silly choices but you don't have to make them. Trailer park life is a trap if you own the trailer. People who don't understand this are why trailer parks exist. If you're reading this and consider buying a trailer on land you don't own, run the hell away. Don't try to talk yourself into it. ignore anyone who does. It's fucking stupid on a good day and that's putting it kindly. BTW trailer parks will not "happily" pay to relocate used trailers because that deteriorating housing stock (the only people who contend mobile homes are garbage are invested in making or selling them, I've enough experience working on the damn things to know better!) becomes their problem. Trailers are a special kind of "housing" because they DEPRECIATE. That's why the new trend for landlords is building muliplex apartments which make better use of land for less work per unit. Keeping up with a trailer park is an expensive asspain and tenants are amazingly destructive to rental trailers (and often their own).

  14. Printing interests noobs in CAD/CAM which of course makes learning machining easier. If you own a home it's surprisingly easy to buy and move your own mill and lathe safely without paying a rigger so I do. (I don't bother with firearms as they're commodity items...for now.) For the cost of a few "safe queens" one can gain a wonderfully useful new hobby and make or mod parts for vehicles, tools and much much more.

The average person is tech-illiterate thus unable to care about voting for useful policy. They prefer to be entertained and drool on their shoes. Everything in a democratic republic is really the fault of that public.   40. Civilians should know the armed forces are just other people in uniform, not better or worse, and senior military leadership as as internally "political" as any other group. The armed forces have always been so mission-centric nothing else matters until it gets exposed. Ask any vet. There is little accountability. Individual workcenters can be great places to work but ethics don't always scale. These pollution problems routinely affect active duty and veteran populations. Look up pollution info for any base near you. Jet fuel exposure also affects the millions of vets over the decades who were exposed to it like aircraft maintainers, fuel system maintainers and many more. Every vet should check their exposure history including every base they were stationed at or deployed to.
