Even right wing biased polls have Walz's favorability ~5% higher than Vance. Vance just isn't a very likable person. Too much like his boss only nowhere near as charismatic.
9
Nah. But it is good to see that at least some Republicans still have the balls to speak their minds instead of the party line.
9
And Trump is 200× worse than her. What's your point?
8
@noway57 81 million voted for the Democratic candidate rather than the Republican and would likely still do so as the polarization of the two parties has become so extreme that it will be impossible for many who lean one way or the other to vote for the other side's candidate due to their being to radical.
7
He's an American.
7
This wrong will be remedied on appeal. If not, then this country, like all others which have chosen mob rule over rule of law, will fail.
7
Vance is pure cringe to listen to. Walz is much more likable.
6
Walz is well ahead in even right wing biased polls on favorability and Vance is nowhere near as good of a public speaker as Walz so this debate is likely not going to go well for him.

Since Article 1, Section 5, Clause 2 of the Constitution. Edit: The Houses of Congress are given the power to set their own rules and punish those who refuse to follow them. In this case, the original penalty was a fine. Now, refusal to wear a mask will essentially be seen as disorderly conduct which is grounds for Capitol Police to make an arrest.
5
Impeach no... 25th Amendment perhaps but Harris wouldn't exactly be an improvement especially with all the chaos either approach would cause. Best to just ride Biden's term out and hope both parties are smart enough to run different candidates in 2024.
5
Sadly, the rioters can at least point to videos of the police beating/killing people as a source for their anger. Whether or not it's justified, there's at least some evidence. There's been no evidence presented in court under oath to support any of the outlandish claims of election fraud behind the threats to election workers.
4
@Tits_Money You are full of it. The cost of the checks alone adds up to more than 9% of the cost. On top of that, there's the $1,600/month unemployment benefit available that adds at least and additional 50% to the direct payment cost. Direct assistance makes up at least 20% to 25% of the bill's cost. The vast majority of the rest is going to items supporting safe reopening and long term recovery. All of which is at least distantly related/complimentary to covid relief. Unlike the previous stimulus bills. The unnecessary parts that cost enough to matter have been removed. The GOP Senators are simply being the spiteful asses they've been ever since they were infected by the Trump virus.
4
Someone go hire an auctioneer or commercial fine print speaker to do the reading. Or, better yet, make damn sure that every single GOP Senator is in their seat for the entire duration of the reading. If their constituents really support them, I'm sure they'll chip in for the adult diapers some of their wornout old grifters will need. No air freshener though. Make them become one with the ripeness of their own childish spite. And jack the heat up to the maximum...wouldn't want them getting cold now would we?
4
SCOTUS hasn't announced that they will even hear it. They're not required to.
4
It is sad. I never thought the Republican party would go down the drain like they have.
4
No. Half the country can see that Trump's policies on the matters have not been thought out for their consequences though. Even members of his own party are against or highly sceptical of his economic plan and know his mass deportation plan will devastate the economy. Some people actually understand the issues...unlike MAGA.
4
The Republican party pretty much ceased to exist when they allowed Trump to run as their candidate. The vast majority are just sold out RINOs now.
4
And rightfully so. It's the people's political bias overriding their intelectual skepticism when it comes to media stories in general that's the real enemy. That isn't limited to just mainstream media. Just because one media source is less popular than another, it doesn't make their reporting any more or less accurate. They're all trying to sell you something and thus cater to the specific views of their target demographic.
3
Get used to disappointment.
3
@HughJorgan1 Considering CA and NY pay for a large chunk of the federal assistance received by red states, said red states continually voting against their best interests might not be the best idea in the long run...Love them or hate them, we can't afford to lose them.
3
Trying to compare this election to past elections is why so many people don't understand the results and resort to unecessary claims of fraud to explain things. The mechanics of this election were different enough to make such comparisons pointless.
3
The rest of the world aren't exactly in a position to judge...and it's not like their opinion matters anyway.
3
He doesn't need to. Technically, he's telling the truth here. The fact that Rand doesn't understand that just shows that he really doesn't know what he's talking about.
3
@WhatHaveUSDone You're wasting your time. Like Rand, his fluffers don't know enough about the issue to recognize a true answer from a false one. Technically, under the specific language of the moratorium on "gain of function" in viral studies, Fauci told the truth. Though the NiH should have insisted that the Wuhan lab use the same precaution level as the one at UNC when working with the virus being studied. That said, the changes to the virus they worked with actually made it less likely to affect humans and greatly nerfed the severity of the disease it causes. Also, it's chemically impossible for what they were working on to have been a source for the version responsible for covid 19 and the latter shows no signs of manmade alterations to it.
3
So she's going to waste more money on a lawsuit she can't win than she'll be paying in fines. It's nice to know she can afford to throw money away...wonder how her constituents feel about it?
3
Correction: It's what happens when a sore loser makes unsupported claims of election fraud rather than accept defeat.
3
They put the 2nd amendment in as a compromise between those who favored the country having a standing professional army and those who were wary of such. The latter wanted to sure up the legality of maintaining an armed state militia as a bit of a balance to the federal government. Initially, no one interpreted it to apply to individuals beyond militia members.
3
It was a suicide.
3
In all fairness, just sending out money like this can't be maintained for much longer without leading to massive inflation among other problems. What we really need is a feasible plan to safely start getting people back to work and our economy back on track.
3
@ldznuts BLM has already stated that there will still be "protests" until the other three cops are tried and convicted...and you can be sure that once those terrorist demands have been met, they'll find some other excuse to burn down cities...after looting them of course.
2
"and lock the docking bays..."
2
@dbliss741 The only way Chauvin gets convicted of what he's charged with is if the jury ignores the law and rules based on emotion or fear of riots if they acquit. The only legitimate charges that might fit what actually happened would be negligent homicide or involuntary manslaughter. Neither of which he's charged with. The medical examiner already buckled to political pressure and got a bit...creative with the cause of death. Hopefully there's at least one juror with enough integrity to thwart this prosecutor's farce of a case.
2
We'll be fine. The majority of the country will eventually get annoyed enough to stomp the radicals on both sides out of existence and then enjoy a little peace and quiet for awhile.
2
@Mr_Miles_45 If you think printing more money would be a fix, you should probably stay out of the discussion until you've had time to study economics a little more.
2
Won't happen. Conservative politicians only use the issue for virtue signaling to their constituents and give absolutely no f**ks about the actual child/fetus. Once the mother squeezes them out, they are no longer of any political use and thus not worth devoting any funds to for their care.
2
Actually, the changes to the election laws being made (edit: at the state level) are intentionally designed to be unfair for voters in highly populated urban areas (which are usually the "bluest" areas of a state.) So no, they will do nothing to make elections more fair. It's got nothing to do with ID or race though. They all snuck in all sorts of seemingly harmless restrictions and deadlines that, when stacked, will make managing elections in the areas mentioned a complete nightmare for election workers and are guaranteed to cause rushed, inaccurate counts. The goal being that in case of a Republican loss, there will likely be enough inaccuracies with the urban vote for it to be challenged.
2
No one but the delegates at the conventions ever vote for the candidate...Primaries are pointless and some states like mine don't even let Infependents legitimately vote in them anyway.
2
A receipt system would be a bit tricky to do without conflicting with voter privacy laws.
2
If the 2020 election taught us anything it's that the vast majority of voters don't know jack when it comes to how their government works or about the Constitution. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if ~10% to ~16% of all voters actually believe Trump will be reinstated...After all, in any random group of people, you can expect to find at least 10% to be nutjobs.
2
Not really. The judge intentionally made many questionable rulings to make sure the verdict will be overturned on appeal. That way, the jury could wrongfully convict to appease the angry mob and still keep a clear conscience knowing their verdict wouldn't matter in the long run. The good thing about angry mobs is that they're easily fooled.
2
Probably not. One of the reasons he's so disgusted with the whole thing is likely that he did vote Trump and is now realizes he made a mistake.
2
Idk about that. Trump has nearly no understanding of the Constitution. To know less than him would be quite difficult. Anyone who bothered reading beyond the 2nd amendment would likely have him beat.
2
They have a bad habit of being lazy and just relying on SCOTUS rulings to deal with things. They've done the same concerning the legality of secession and other things as well.
2
Had it been a qualified contractor who followed proper security protocol maybe. As is, cyber ninja made such a mess of things, that their data simply can't be trusted.
2
@Nitsua4891 The $1,600/month unemployment benefit available might be helpful...but that would require a bit of effort on the part of the recipient...can't have that now can we?
2
It was a bad idea anyway. Due to varied cost of living from state to state, a high wage across the board would be unbalanced. The fed should set it at $10 to $12.50 and let the states individually adjust it from there.
2
@Nitsua4891 with a dash of good old childish spite thrown in for seasoning.
2
The Dems. This is just childish spite from the GOP. They can slow it down, but they can't stop it and they know it. If they keep this kind of behavior up, they're going to get obliterated in the mid terms. A rare sight to see since traditionally the minority party tends to do well in mid terms.
2
Scottish dolphins are no joke.
2
He really doesn't and the allegations he was foolishly making would have angered anyone who does understand it. Personally, I thought Fauci showed a lot of patience. It's not easy to put up with dipsh*ts like Rand.
