Colorado doesn't have legal standing to even hear the suit to begin with.

A new record for lies told per minute...How can anyone believe this man's bs?
25
They used the wrong argument in the appeal. What he should do is appeal based on ineffective counsel. Some of the Prosecution's expert witnesses (especially the toxicology expert) made some very dubious claims that went unchallenged because the defense simply didn't understand the science and didn't put much effort into finding someone who did to assist him with the more technical aspects of the case.
23
Well, you shouldn't have married someone who thought it was a good idea to hide documents that had been subpoenaed.
20
@anthonylaflamme3630 Too bad it's an empty promise. Think about it. He has only one term available, so he doesn't have to worry about accountability for re-election, and with him refusing any more debates, he doesn't have to explain or defend any new enticements he throws out there for votes. Expect more juicy promises from him leading up to the election. Especially if he's polling behind.
19
@Jsee66 Don't be so sure. It's primarily been a one sided relationship and they are quickly becoming far more trouble than they're worth.
17
The last time a President went off script when answering questions concerning a field they weren't an expert in, a President suggested that injecting bleach is a good way to prevent/treat an infectious disease...
12
@BlueDrakma long range critical thinking is hard. Easier to just scapegoat domestically and let the next generations clean up the mess.
10
This one's not going away. Especially to anyone who saw the original TikTok ad they put out shortly afterward with images of him in section 60 without the family that invited him. It was clearly political and he's lying about it with a smile.
9
Yes, a boatload. Given everything they turned up, it would be an extreme outlier if it turned out not to be true. They were extremely thorough. Expect any suit against CNN to be quickly dropped as soon as the election is over.
9
@really748 Most of the major issues over the last four years are the fallout for his bumbling as President. Ukraine and Covid especially. Also, his border policy violated international agreements we signed. Things are difficult when you actually have to do something and do it the right way.
9
@IsaacCline-ru7ls calling yourself humble means your not.
9
Most people are competent enough to not put themselves in a position requiring such "survival" to begin with...
9
With the amount of Ketamine he does, I doubt he'll notice it anytime soon.
8
No one is "letting" them investigate themselves. They're a sovereign nation, and thus no one can force them to allow an outside investigation. At best, the threat of sanctions could be used to possibly strong arm them into allowing such. But it would take years for them to have enough of an effect to matter.
8
His timing and delivery were garbage here.
7
@vettevegas Agreed Trump can hire his own supplemental security if he's unhappy and won't listen to that provided him by the taxpayers for activities that are beyond what his assigned detail can feasibly handle. We're not spending $500,000 per golf outing like we did when he was in office.
7
Gotta love a "hail Mary" like this from a defendant who knows they're screwed and now wishes they had taken a plea deal like some of their more intelligent co conspirators did.
7
It's an empty promise like the rest. He can say whatever he wants and not have to worry about backing it up since he's limited to one term. No re-election possibility means no accountabikity...He might as well throw in a minimum wage increase while he's at it.
7
He's only doing the GOP's bidding.
7
That might be asking too much from someone with the maturity of a 12 year old.
7
More like, you're not going to let local governments do what their constituents elected them to do...
7
Trump needs to supply his own supplemental security for large events and spur of the moment golf etc. Expecting his allotted detail to handle such things is silly and he doesn't warrant anymore taxpayer funded protection than he already has.
7
He won't officially. He may consult some attorneys to appear like he will though.
6
@sabaha4637 even more childish than other responses of yours to other comments. Go get someone to change your diaper and let the adults converse.
6
...and probably soon to be unemployed going by the current vote count.
6
Maybe ask the actual locals how they feel. Their economy is thriving with the extra workforce and consumer base.
6
What's childish is that so many American adults are so enraptured with a washed up con artist that they rejoice in a defense argument that they wouldn't accept from their kids... "They got away with it, why can't I?"
6
RFK was the choice for those who didn't like Trump or Biden. When Biden dropped out RFK lost a lot of votes to Harris. Regardless of who he endorses, at best half his remaining support base will go to Trump and that's not enough. If Trump wants any chance, he's going to have to stop ignoring independents, moderates, and centrists. He ignored them last time and stuck to the hard line right and it cost him the election. So far he's doing it again and expecting different results. There's a word for that behavior.
6
We ceased to be the land of opportunity (if we ever really were to begin with) long ago. These days, no amount of hard work and perseverance is guaranteed to be successful (or even break even.) Housing costs for the middle class and below alone are meant by design to eat up enough of one's income to make any sort of significant savings a near impossibility (especially if one is alone.) The vast majority live paycheck to paycheck and for them, one little hiccup can be enough to find themselves on the street. Combine that with our piss poor mental health system and what we have now is the result.
6
@sabaha4637 Mommy, mommy, those kids did something too... Either defend his behavior with adult arguments or don't defend it at all.
5
@ziff1066 Forbes doesn't want to get sued for libel.
5
This is another empty promise. He can only serve one more term and has refused another debate so he's completely free of accountability for any enticements he throws out there now. Expect even juicier promises to come.
5
No, the IDF has yet to provide any conclusive evidence to support their claims. Edit: They're mostly just releasing clips of indistinct underground areas and telling the viewer what to see.
5
They have many other responsibilities requiring their resources. Expecting a former President size detail to protect someone like Trump is silly. He should hire his own supplemental security for his high risk and spur of the moment golf games. Those are not the taxpayers' problem.
5
We were somewhat complicit with the holocaust as well... at least for a while.
5
No re-election concern because he can only serve one term means no accountability. Expect him to start throwing out all sorts of juicy policies. Now it makes sense why he refuses another debate. No having to defend any of his new enticements.
5
There's tons of video of people just climbing over the silly wall. Wall or not, the border is simply too large to successfully patrol for any reasonable cost. Programs to make them citizens would be more useful in the long run. Naturalized citizens tend to know far more about this country than the average born American anyway...sadly.
5
And weren't missing much. Dude came across like a complete amateur.
5
Military affairs has already said that he retired "as" a Sergeant Major. He was then reduced in rank for benefits purposes because he had not completed all the course work. He can honestly say he retired as a Sergeant Major but not that he is a retired Sergeant Major. Military technicalities... Edit: Also, one little slip up in a speech years ago is nothing to get hung up about... unless one is desperate to impune the character of someone with very little to impune.
5
He's been offered help by tech people who support him and he refused...Pretty much all of his upper staff quit...If he won't try to even defend himself, what does that tell you?
5
There are many metrics to consider when it comes to determining if a member nation is pulling their weight. The US accounts for ~34% of the total population of NATO countries yet pays only ~26% of the general operations funding for example. Looking at that metric alone, it might appear that we're the deadbeats. Every country in NATO is strategically valuable in their own way and they've all been raising their defense spending at least some each year in a good faith effort to eventually achieve the 2% goal (despite the abysmal state of world economics over the past 10 years since the agreement was made.) Trump's harping on the 2% GDP defense spending agreement is just one more in a long line of disingenuous arguments he knows his followers will praise him for without putting any significant thought into it.
5
@Vorname_Nachnahme That's the IDF estimate. When asked how the IDF defines Hamas terrorist during anonymous. interviews, multiple soldiers (including officers) have said they've been told that anyone killed by the IDF is a terrorist. The real number is thought by most to be ~4,000 or so at the most.
5
@Dacangri2 The thing is, no one cares about debates except those who are already decided on who they're voting for. Like you've more or less pointed out, it's just a sporting event for fans to have something to argue about at work the next day.
5
Never thought I'd live to see a candidate whose behavior would even remotely bring the 14th amendment into play to begin with. Why anyone would even consider voting for Trump after all of his childish/possibly criminal behavior, I'll never understand. Granted, why anyone would think Biden is fit for another four year term equally baffles me. Neither candidate have any business being involved in this race. Both should just bow out gracefully and let the country start to repair the damage done by both.
5
We already have.
5
@yolandayoung7462 If they want to work and become citizens eventually, more power to them. The country could use a little fresh, unentitled, blood. We've become stagnated with a country full of citizens who couldn't even pass the citizenship exam immigrants are given.
5
Empty promise like the rest. He can only serve one term now. No re-election chance means no accountability.
4
Already have them. It's called voting.

For what, saving taxpayer money by not making arrests whose cases would have to be thrown out? The law in question is unenforceable as long as the individual doesn't set foot on the justice's property or impede traffic to and from it (edit: the small handful of protestors dumb enough to do so were arrested.) The problem being that it applies "in or near" said property but doesn't define the distance that constitutes "near." The courts can't just arbitrarilly choose such a boundary distance after the fact. The law needs to tell protestors exactly where they can legally be so that they will know whether or not they're breaking it.
