One of the white lynch mob tried to take a pistol away from one of the black men who had come as part of a group to help defend the jail holding the mob's target. A shot was fired, and both sides opened up on each other. The blacks just had better aim. They lost 2 and the white lynch mob lost 10. From then on, the white side went berserk.

And paid posters need like you need to stick to X and Facebook where you belong.
2
It's a no win situation. The country is split ~50\50 on which side to support.

What do you think these changes being made by Republican state legislatures are doing? As usual the Dems are stupidly focusing on the wrong part of those changes (IDs and claiming they're racist) but the laws are heavily skewed in favor of Republican candidates. They're intentionally designed to make handling elections in heavily populated urban areas (usually the bluest parts of a state) a complete nightmare for election workers and guarantee rushed, inaccurate counts. That way, when a Republican loses, there's an excellent chance that there will be enough inaccuracies with the urban vote to challenge the results.

He's an attention seeking little manchild for whom childishly grandstanding for votes is more important than potentially being a health risk to his colleagues.
2
I'm sure it will "trickle down"...
2
Exactly. It cost taxpayers ~$500,000 per trip to golf when he was in office and a lot of pre-prep on the part of his Presidential security. If he insists on spur of the moment golfing at different clubs against the advice of his taxpayer provided security, then he should provide his own additional small army to secure the sites on his own with his campaign or personal funds. Not our responsibility.

@neil9383 His behaving like a petulant child is why prosecutors and judges are not inclined to cut him much If any slack
2
He's a pathetic hypocrite. Kentucky is one of the states that receive far more federal funds than they pay in federal taxes. Until he's willing to give an accounting of where all that money goes, he's got no room to talk about what gets funded.

Justice is why the sentence was overturned. The original trial judge made some very poor decisions and failed to ensure a fair trial. The key mistake being addressed was his failure to ensure as unbiased a jury as possible. One of the eventual jurors had made multiple social media posts calling for the bomber's death and complaining about being caught in the lockdown during the manhunt before jury selection even began. A couple of the other jurors had made similar but not quite as blatant posts as well. The whole thing is being misportrayed by the media and politicians. If SCOTUS does uphold the decision to overturn the sentence, all that will happen will be a redo of the sentencing phase using a fresh (properly vetted) jury. He'll most likely still get the death penalty. It's a good thing for the victims that the only issue used to support the overturning of the sentence was one that left it possible to avoid an actual retrial and just look at sentencing. The judge made some other decisions that could have easily been used to show that the entire process was tainted.

@TheMomseloc From 2000 up until Oct 7 2023, the IDF, on average, killed ~1,400 Palestinian civilians each year in Gaza and the West Bank (with a little help from illegal Israeli settlers in the latter.) Hamas took out that many Israeli civilians once only to have the IDF respond by murdering an additional ~35,000 Palestinian civilians (and likely most if not all of the unaccounted for hostages as well.) One could make a strong argument that, when it comes to murdering innocent civilians, Israel makes Hamas look like amateurs.

@robertw1800 In 2016 he had to worry about re-election. Now he doesn't... There's absolutely nothing to hold him accountable this time. If you can't grasp that concept then your reasoning is nonsensical. Edit: On the upside he won't be as tempted to make bad deals in a desperate attempt to uphold his promises like he did with the Taliban and other decisions he made during re-election year.
2
@ACommenterOnYouTube It's more about them not making as many foolish mistakes as Trump will/did. A lot of the problems they faced could have been avoided or mitigated had Trump spent less time playing golf, crying about fake news, and actually read some of the stuff he was signing...Quick fixes only cause problems later. Given what they had to work with and Republican Congress members who were under orders not to work with them on anything, they did what they could.
2
It has to be done by the book or we're no better than him.
2
The US has no official language... We're free to speak what we want.
2
Nothing he can do. They're legal immigrants.

@gigi6374 The federal moratorium did not actually apply to all evictions. Certain criteria had to be met in order to qualify. That said, the vast majority of people who were unable to pay their rent in full easily met the criteria. Also, State and local governments were able to add protections of their own if they felt it necessary. So in some areas, those who didn't meet the federal criteria may have been covered at the state/local level.

Traitor...

He knows because the same goes for all viruses and their variants. The further removed a variant is from the original strain(s) a vaccine or natural immunity were developed for, the less likely the variant will be affected fully if at all by them. It's one of the reasons vaccines are generally desirable. Gaining natural immunity requires actually catching the disease. Which, in turn, allows more chances for a new variant to emerge.
2
Either way, who cares? Putin can just go cry.

On the stand lies are perjury
2
It's his responsibility to address why his boss endorsed him without properly vetting him as well as his boss's ability to judge character. Passing the buck entirely to the NC voters is just a dodge.
2
Thinking of others excluding minors you mean... By vetoing this, legal guardians are not only free to have minors in their care forcefully sterilized, the government will even chip in on the cost.
2
Your concrete appears to be a little low on aggregate...
2
@charlesvan13 Keep in mind that no proof to support these claims has been submitted and that a couple of the claims included in the motion take ~5 minutes of research to debunk.
2
He has refused help from tech people who support him...He's not even trying to disprove their article. A lawsuit would be pointless.
2
He'll be going to prison if he doesn't grow up and knock off childish bullsh*t like this. If any of those he tricked into getting onto those planes had already applied for asylum then they were technically here legally and his assisting in their removal from the jurisdiction prior to their immigration court hearing would make him party to multiple felonies. Also, his constituents might want to ask him how much of a kickback he got from the transportation company he paid $650,000 of Florida's money to fly just 50 people... $13,000 per person seems a bit...sus.
2
Like a 4th grader reading a report mommy wrote... how cute.
2
Sarcasm doesn't translate well in the internet
2
He's 77 years old and has never once taken responsibility for any of his actions. It's always someone else's fault. I do find it amusing that those who support him wouldn't let their kids get away with his childish behavior, but they'll whip out their wallets and flat out fund him to keep it up... Thankfully he'll be irrelevant soon... just another skid mark in the annals of history.
2
@SandmanGotBeer It would just be more chaos caused by putting unqualified people into positions because they support Trump.
2
If they're smart they'll just stay quiet and not take a stand either way. It's a lose/lose situation for them otherwise.
2
It's not racist but the new laws being passed by these Republican led state legislatures are heavily skewed in favor of Republican candidates. They're designed to make it almost impossible for election workers in highly populated urban areas (usually the bluest areas of a state) to manage and guarantee rushed, inaccurate counts. That way, whenever a Republican loses, there's an excellent chance that there will be enough inaccuracies in the urban vote to challenge the results.
2
Property crime rates are higher so far than they were in 2022. However, violent crime rates have significantly decreased. Also, even with the increase in the property crime rate, said rate is still well below the national average.
2
Jail, no. Off the bench, definitely. He was never qualified for the position to begin with.
2
Need a legal license for that. He lost his.
2
A legend for his incompetence and poor behavior... His own coworkers heavily edit the majority opinions they let him write because he doesn't know what he's doing.
2
The taking of rights won't stop at taking away a woman's right to abortion. If not nipped in the bud there, the right will continue to strip rights under the guise of some imagined moral majority until we have a pseudo theocracy rather than a republic. Then we will all just have to hope that all of our morals perfectly align with the bishops in power. It is an issue that strikes at the heart of what this country was supposed to be. A place to get away from religious oppression. Not one to praise it.
2
And Trump turned out to be such a fine outstanding man... he did his SA-ing in a much more appropriate manner...
2
They didn't really have any choice but to allow them to enter. Officers were getting injured at the doors and it was clear that they weren't going to be able to hold so they fell back hoping to bottleneck the mob and contain them in the lobby.
2
@rhymereason3449 The US Constitution prevents an insurrectionist from holding office not running for it. That essentially makes attempts to keep him off the ballot at the state level pointless.
2
He's absolutely right on this. They crossed the line.
2
They don't need to. That's what their aids are for. The vast majority of the wording is just legalese so they split it up among aids to read and summarize. If representatives actually had to read every bill in full, nothing would ever get done.
2
The narrow immunity likely comes from leaked documents that showed that (despite what they were saying in public) the Pakistani government had actually given permission "under the table" for the strikes and in a handful of them they even provided to location to hit. Edit: Besides, it's not an issue that Trump supporters should want to bring up since Trump did the same thing when he ordered the drone strike on that Iranian general in Baghdad. The primary difference being that he didn't even have tacit permission from the Iraqi government.
2
We should trade Trump for the remaining hostages.
2
She's an embarrassment to the state of Tennessee. She spent nearly the entire time Trump was in office trying to become one of his exalted fluffers. Despite him obviously wanting nothing to do with her. She just wouldn't take the hint. She's the political equivalent of a desperate old cougar looking for prey at the local bar...and always going home unfed.
2
If someone can't be bothered to be tested weekly (the alternative to getting vaxxed in this plan) then they have some growing up to do and can find employment elsewhere while doing it.
2
@jasoncamenzind513 And the towns economy is thriving and expanding as a result of the added workforce and consumer base. Don't blame immigrants because they're willing to move to Ohio when few Americans are.
2
Some people would rather have a President who behaves like an adult and isn't in love with the sound or their own voice...
2
Yet still not as bad the Trumpublicans...
