With the poor quality of their work over the last few years, they've pretty much earned unemployment.

He would have destabilized NATO and our rapid response hub with base closures in Germany and then said. "Mr. Putin, please don't take advantage of this ~2 year window of opportunity I created for you to invade one of your neighbors..." oh wait... that's pretty much what he did.
2
@lettucearsebiscuits8375 He did veto Congress's attempt to pull us out of the Syrian Civil War though.
2
Kentucky is always near the top of the list when it comes to states that receive more federal money than they pay in federal taxes...Unless he wants to address how all of that money is being spent, he'd do well to keep his mouth shut. Bad things happen to the political careers of those who unnecessarilly draw too much attention to the grift occurring in their own state.
2
He's not dependent on the federal taxes from blue states to survive like most of his state is. Without those "nutjobs" many of his constituents would be living in third world country conditions...
2
No, Vance. They'll call you a racist when you make up stories about immigrants in order to fuel hysteria against particular nationalities etc. If you want to talk actual policy like, how you plan to fill the very significant economic hole that will be left after mass deportation, or how you plan to pay for that along with the deportation and fully manned full border security afterwards to keep them out, we're all ears..
2
He's the only one of the three who isn't delusional and actually behaves like an adult.
2
The courts will side with the state on this. If it were private employers it'd be different but public employees being required to be tested or vaxed is legit for public health reasons.
2
There's not time for a legal team to prepare a suit before the election and as soon as the election is over, it will be dropped entirely.

Other than the fact that it was a pro Trump fraud that the system prevented as intended and thus not exactly a high priority given all the other rudiculousness they've been dealing with, who says it's buried? An investigative agency which plays with it's hole cards showing isn't going to be a very successful tool for law enforcement.
1
They're doing Giuliani a favor by letting the Hunter email bs go away quietly. The last thing he needs right now is to be charged with falsifying evidence.
1
Some have tried. NDA's are part of employment contracts for those types of jobs so they can't say anything if they wanted to.

Doing his job.

Well, when people have to spend so much of their pay just to have a roof over their heads and food on their tables thanks to corporate collusion and price gouging that they can't afford anything else, then, yeah, the economy is screwed. Trump is a friend of the corporations, not the people so if he gets elected, it will definitely get worse. I don't like Harris, but middle class tax cuts and the reining in of corporate abuse will be more beneficial to the people than the nothing Trump has proposed thus far. As long as she remembers to make up for the revenue loss by dropping some of the breaks given to the wealthy simply because they're wealthy.
1
He won fair and square. He and his administration simply screwed the pooch with this particular policy change by not properly planning ahead before making it. Hopefully they'll learn from their mistake (something Trump's administration rarely ever managed to do) and avoid flustercucks like this in the future.
1
The 22nd amendment would limit him to serving only one more term.
1
Not possible.
1
Umm...They control the House, Senate, and White House while the right has now formed a fatal split that will take at least a decade, likely two, to repair and become politically relevant again. If you count not being able to ban someone who will never win another election anyway from holding future office a win, you need some work on your definition of "win." Also, there's a strong chance Trump's actual legal problems will finish him off well before 2024 anyway. All the Senate Republicans accomplished by selling out in this impeachment was denying the left their cherry on top. The ultimate pyrrhic victory...rejoice...
1
@lynettetaravella2578 Trumpublicans are the RINOS. They've hijacked the party from it's rational contingent and turned it into a mimicry of some crazy far right European party.
1
@screwthecrewofpoliticians8921 Meh, we'll see. As it currently stands, the difference is less than 0.5% which will mean an automatic recount under Colorado election law. Either way, to have such a well funded incumbent end up getting blindsided by such a close vote against an opponent who is essentially a political "nobody" (a one time city councilman) means her constituents don't exactly consider her all that and a bag of chips. In 2020, her margin of victory was ~10% / ~10,000 votes.
1
@screwthecrewofpoliticians8921 The original talley of any election of significant size is highly likely to be slightly inaccurate due to human error. That's why pretty much every state has automatic recount thresholds built in to their laws (usually somewhere in the <1% difference range.) There's nothing nefarious about it. It's just that maintaining an accurate working count while also having to operate the polling places etc. splits the attention of workers and thus makes them more prone to error than doing a recount after the fact where all they need to focus on is the count.
1
In regards to this specific issue, this administration is at least trying to do something. Trump would likely side with Israel just like he sides with Russia concerning Ukraine. He's a sucker for morally questionable strong arm leaders.
1
Banks and the others refused the original offer for a bi-partisan committee. They only reason they've changed their mind now is that they caught some unexpected backlash from their constituents for that refusal. As for Banks and Jordan, they were chosen by the Republicans for their troll value/mancrushes for Trump, not their merit and because the Dems (predictable and warranted) refusal to accept them can be spun into some more unnecessary manufactured drama.
1
Someone who would resort to childish stunts that set bad examples for their constituents is pretty much the opposite of what we need. Dude's got some growing up to do before he should be entrusted to represent his constituents.
1
It's more disturbing to see how woefully inadequate and in some cases how obviously biased state election laws are...I'm for states' rights but if states refuse to fix their problems and, in the case of these heavily biased anti-urban voter laws being passed by Republican led state legislatures, actually take steps to discriminate against certain demographics, then it's up to the federal government to address the situation. The Constitution clearly gives the federal government the power to do so and until now they've been nice and tried to let the states do it themselves. The states have simply failed on this issue.
1
@SteveFrench_420 The Constitution clearly gives the federal government the right to address this issue. If you don't like it. Leave.
1
Society is f'd up when they think it's acceptable to place the imaginary rights of a non-person ahead of a woman's right to the 13th amendment's protection from involuntary servitude. Luckily, SCOTUS's incompetent decision also has the side effect of making secession a state matter as well so the pro-choice states can simply take advantage of that and leave the union if they wish. Considering that said states account for the vast majority of the federal tax revenue, the anti-abortion states might run into some problems when it comes to providing for all of the forced children who will quickly fill up their trailer parks...
1
@nargaflarga That doesn't always get around it. "Alleged" is what you use if someone has been indicted/arrested for something. You have to be real careful with claims unless you have substantial evidence to back them up. Unless you want to risk legal action and/or the reputation of your organization. Granted, Forbes reputation is leaning toward tabloid over the last few years so maybe they will risk such a story.
1
When the Trump administration was secretly making deals with the Taliban and allowing the Afghan government to release thousands of Taliban fighters as part of their desperate attempt to fulfill a campaign promise, when did they even include their own party, much less the Democrats in the decision. Don't forget, it's was Trump's actions that forced a rushed plan to withdraw on Biden's part.
1
So much bluster... so little substance. ICE and DHS are currently on pace to deport fewer people than Biden did.
1
@Jasonmcglovon If he would just admit it and apologize, it would go away faster. The more he denies it, the longer it will follow him.
1
Of course you're not going to get a useful answer. Doing so would only benefit Putin. We'll know when it's prudent for us to know. Move on to legitimate issues.
1
There was always going to be a mass deportation. The change made by Biden was simply that those requesting asylum will be allowed to remain on our side of the border until their request is processed. Very few of those requests will be successful and the rest will be turned away. The children do complicate things a bit. However, had Biden's administration put more effort into planning ahead before making the policy change, even that aspect could have been handled smoothly and without causing this mess.
1
It is. He gets his marching orders directly from Trump's campaign managers now. No deviation from the script allowed. Kind of sad for someone who was once a never Trumper.
1
It's a shame she'll go down in history negatively for the regime she chose to serve. She's actually fairly skilled. Oh well, bad decisions are bad decisions.
1
@hollykrentz1401 Much, much easier said than done... The manpower needed alone would be immense and they'd need to be paid, trained, and equipped. It's something only Congress could accomplish as they control the money. A Preaident could issue an executive order to close it, but it would be almost entirely ineffective without the funding to make it actually happen. Without blocking the entire border with guards, those turned away at the official entrances would simply enter illegally and completely undocumented only making things worse. At least those going through the entrances are being processed and given hearing dates in immigration court.

Anyone who thinks it's acceptable to violate a woman's right to the 13th amendment's protection from involuntary servitude deserves whatever violence happens to come their way. There should be no sympathy for those who stick their noses into other people's business only to cry foul when said noses get deservedly punched in response. Anti-abortion folk are free to not have one. They're free to speak out against it. They are not free however, to force their subjective beliefs onto others. Period. Those who try better be ready to back their pathetic ways up with more than just the ramblings of incompetent/rogue SCOTUS "justices." Luckily, the incompetent five of SCOTUS accidentally gave pro-choice states the ability to legally secede with their Dobbs ruling. Anti-choice folk better pray that said states don't take advantage of that opportunity. Considering that they account for the vast majority of federal tax revenues, it might be a little tricky for the remaining union to afford all of the forced children who will quickly fill up their trailer parks...
1
@acrane1100 In thousands of civil court verdicts carrying and giving birth has been referred to as work. The 13th Amendment outlaws forcing one to do work against their will (imvoluntary servitude). Abortion bans do exactly that. There is a clear tie to the slavery issue and the issue should never have been sent to the states since it is already indirectly protected under the US Constitution.
1
@independentears Actually, genetically, a baby is a little less than half the man's...Slightly more than 50% comes from the mother. The mother also puts in far more effort to bring it into the world as well.
1
@independentears Correct. It fits the definition of a parasite for the majority of it's time as a fetus as it cannot survive on it's own and offers no benefit to the mother for the resources it consumes. It even causes extreme stress on the mother's body and potentially threatens her long term health and even life. Harsh way to view it...but accurate.
1
@independentears The prohibition of involuntary servitude under the 13th amendment. Thousands of civil court verdicts have referred to carrying and giving birth as work and one can't be forced to do work against their will. Abortion bans do exactly that. There are a couple of so far successful cases that were moving through the courts based on that argument but the progressives won't help fund them because they aren't based on a woman's rights. Just rights in general. The cases have stalled out for lack of funding having yet to be ruled against in any of the courts they've gone through. Some of which had pro-life judges presiding.

Grow up

At a time when centrists/moderates are most needed, they're all giving up...
1
@turtlevader and minors can live in fear with the knowledge that there's nothing preventing their guardians from having them forcefully sterilized.

He's awful good at crime...don't know about tough.
1
Better someone who does nothing than someone who does harm.
1
Well, for the terrorism bit. It's was Trump's intentional sabotage of NATO stability and our rapid response hub in Germany which directly encouraged a rise in activity. Also, without said sabotage, Putin would never have considered invading Ukraine. That's just one example of how his bumbling and in some cases inaction set the table for many of the problems Biden's administration had to face. He basically set a time bomb to go off right after the new owners took ownership. It didn't help when his bootlickers in the house and senate began actively thwarting attempts to put out the fire on his orders. He was willing to let the country burn simply to have political ammo to use on those of his supporters who never think more than five minutes into the past or future.
1
Maybe if he'd come clean and apologize...

Surviving 4 more years with Mrs. Donald J. Putin as President is not going to be easy... Hopefully we'll be able to make amends with our allies afterward
