  5. It would be a major economic boost for Germany. They would not mind that, at all, to become a large scale supplier. What they need, I believe, is to "have their arm twisted by their friends" to escape from their historical position. Japan is kind of there, already, because if the provocations by North Korea and China. Germany will, eventually, get there because of Russia. 20-30 years from now both powers will be armed to the teeth, possibly even with nuclear weapons.

  48. This debt isn't guaranteed by anything. Just because you own a government bond doesn't mean that you can go and ask the government for a piece of federal land. Well, of course you can, but then the guys in the white coats will show up to take you to the closed ward. The US can simply devalue the US dollar and then it will pay back less (to almost nothing). No big deal.
