  5. Here's my take on what's happening: Tech companies tried their best to enter the huge markets emerging in the east, especially China. In the process they compromised on their principles and developed tools for surveillance and control of information and speech demanded by gate keepers of said markets. They were in part successful and realized that they could offer the same tools to democratic governments in the west, in return for favorable treatment. So what we're seeing now is western governments in collaboration with tech companies playing around with a toolbox developed for dictatorships. I think many Western leaders look to China with a mix of jealousy and admiration, because they can plan for decades, execute plans without respect for individual rights, and GDP growth is king.

  23. What is the best evidence for there being a coup? The one thing I've seen is the leaked phone call by Numan, discussing what candidate US prefer and plans to set up meetings with them. While it shows clearly US meddling in the election, I don't think it is hard evidence that there was a coup. Is there more evidence available?

  48. Bernie Sanders repeatedly acknowledged that Trump supporters have legitimate reasons to be upset, but that Trump instead of addressing the core issues, redirected their anger towards foreigners and foreign countries. He understood the problem and offered real solutions.
