I mean can you blame them for not wanting to be spied on by CIA?

Interesting how the number of vaccine shots taken has become a measure of character.
48
Hmm. If you can't imagine your life without kids, how do you know you are happier with them?
40
People are being too observant, retentive and analytical. Time for another crisis to divert attention and keep everyone in a state of shock and fear.
30
Not only Americans.
23
I would go as far as to say that the donations and investments into Ukraine are because of corruption, not despite of it. Corruption simply means that more things are for sale, including politicians, public property, and illegal products, services and favors.
22
"NS2 was used as a weapon" Example please? Anyway, EU and USA have hardly hesitated to weaponize sanctions as of late to get their will across.
17
What does "Russian sovereign assets" even mean. If they can be frozen by a foreign bank they are not sovereign.
14
"If I don't get tenure, I'll go back to farming." He has a very healthy approach to academia.
13
Sweden is going to need North America for economic security. It's ultimately up for grabs and it would be really nice to have, just letting you know. It's important to us.
11
Sounds like a hearing in court.
11
@rationalbacon5872 Sure, but US energy independence would also reduce the number of regime changes and wars in the world.
10
So his dad had a job and his mom took care of the house and kids. Doesn't sound like an out of the ordinary work ethic. Perhaps he should take more credit for his accomplishment.
10
You are right. There are definitely people who should not have kids.

Alex has such a weird mix of myth and truth. He considers puzzle pieces few are even aware of. When he tries to lay them down doesn't always do it right, but when he does, he discovers truth ahead of everyone else.
7
Well, to be fair Vinnie was also shouting. Could have done without the name calling though.
7
Hmm, I have a feeling he wants me to buy bitcoins. I rather invest in real things.
5
@MrCrisisZ We are now 8 billion and rising. If there is such a thing as population collapse coming, I don't think it is your or my responsibility to prevent it. If you have kids, that should be because you want them, not because of some sense of duty. Besides, population can't grow forever on a finite planet.
4
He's never wrong, and even if he was, he'd redefine words until it seems he was right.
4
I don't know, I see a lot of parents becoming risk averse in order to protect their children. Sometimes parents choose not to do "the right thing" out of fear that the blowback may affect their children. Sometimes parents become more selfish, besides extending the self to include the family.

I recently went through the list of mass shooters of 2023 in USA. It's a diverse bunch: Syrian unemployed, army reserve, senior dance instructor, police sergeant, football player, warehouse worker, white supremacist, etc. My conclusions is that there is no point in trying to look for the cause in the peculiarities of the individual. The problem is obviously systemic.
4
I don't know man, they look weird.
3
So that's dumb.
3
@newyorknewyork1190 Ok, so why all the debate about unification?
3
Who needs bitcoins when WW3 begins?
3
The real question is: was Nixon rightfully paranoid?
3
@AmericanAdvancement Yes, and after that decline the population is expected to converge at a stable level, right? The models are also based on a lot of assumptions. The willingness to have children is influenced by policy, so there is room for adjustment. In the long run, compensating for low birth rate by immigration isn't sustainable, so there is a need to restructure society/economy to promote parenthood, e.g. parental leave, child support, ...
2
Given that the video started with adressing the problem of fatherlessness, I'd guess more regret having kids. However, many probably also regret later that they left their child.
2
@drewhladky306 Weird to spend decades of our lives worrying about how we might feel on the day we die.
2
The igno-arrogance Adam demonstrate here is concerning.
2
Vincent got to learn that getting emotional and screaming doesn't win an argument.
2
Or... CIA killed an undesired potential successors of Putin to reduce the likelihood that regime change results in someone worse in power.

1. Trump said in his speech "I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard". 2. The convicted supposed leaders of the insurrection didn't attend Trump's speech and none of them carried firearms. 3. Trump later tweeted "Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!" and "I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!" before he was banned.

You don't need Cenk on this podcast. He's a vulture and sellout.
2
"Women and Children first" Oh, I always assumed this is because men typically have better physique and thus have better odds at surviving longer and are more effective at helping others. From that standpoint it makes sense that the more vulnerable and less capable go first into the life-boat.
2
I'm disappointed Jim is unwilling to break the fourth wall of government, pretending the problem is merely the delusional lefties.
2
Let me guess, a particular govt agency is looking for more funding.
2
This was great. The only thing I disagree with is the characterization of establishment as "this is how we've always done it" and that free thinkers as "how can we do things different". What you are describing is conservatism versus progressivism, which is very different. The establishment can be progressives (let's start censoring, let's start persecuting journalists, let's exempt who we label terrorists from constitutional rights, let's sign off our sovereignty to supranational organizations like WHO, etc.) and the free thinkers can be conservatives (let's make sure we are sticking to these historically proven principles).
2
There is an implicit suggestion that the "satanic panic" of the 80's was not a moral panic based on false memories, e.g. generated by recovered-memory therapy, but a vast cover-up of actual widespread satanic ritual abuse.
2
I like the move. Celebrity women surf the boundary of what is acceptable in order to attract attention and she just stepped right over that imaginary line.

Where do Chinese billionaires turn when they lose faith in domestic real estate? This will send shockwaves.

Houthis impose economic sanctions on US for ongoing genocide. Seems fair.
1
@HomoRomo100 The sad thing is that the vaccines were never effective at reducing transmission. But this was very difficult to know at the time due to propaganda and censor.
1
@Apollo23 It means US simply let's its creditors know that it will not pay its debt. They could do this, because what are creditors going to do about it? The consequence is that it will be very difficult to convince anyone to lend them more in a long time. Their credit rating will plummet.

@GreetingsWithFire Are you familiar with Mark Blyth? He cowrote the book "Austerity: The history of a dangerous idea". You'll find plenty of him talking about this on YouTube.

As Elon's employee she is in no way free to roam. She has to take the company in a direction Elon agrees with and work within the boundaries he define. I'm sure they had deep discussions and Elon made sure they have a somewhat shared vision before employing her.

Patrick comes off as really naive here. In a dreamworld, capitalism works the way he describes. In the real world, capitalists desceive, manipulate, exploit, and leverage their power to benefit themselves at the expense of others. Big pharma is in direct competition with the human immune system and health. They rather keep us vulnerable and dependent than healthy and resilient. Tobacco industry convinced people it was healthy and suppressed information to the contrary. Sugar industry convinced us lipids are worse. Polymer industry dumped poisons into the water supply causing birthdefects and cancer. Petroleum industry spread lead across the globe, actively tried to suppress information about its harms. Weapons manufacturers actively lobby for war. Etc.

Sounds like the Panama Canal needs competition. Build a new channel!

If Musk just solved male impotence, he's going to 100x his wealth this year.
