"...and the way you make death is by mixing salt together, and you get life and death, and you have to dispose of the life." Hmm, this sounds interesting.

Rymdresa translated is space travel or space journey.

Is it really wise to control a space craft with a steering that requires gravity?
12
Haha cheer up man. You need to learn to take a joke!

Turns out the SuperHOT Beta is only available for those who pledged over $40 beforehand and cannot be purchased at the moment. GOD DAMN IT! >:(

The concept of skipping on top of the atmosphere like a dolphin is amusing.

5:28 A guy at my university is involved in a project where they will measure the interfacial surface tension between slag and steel. They're going to have an experiment performed in that Japanese module if I'm not mistaken.

I'm not an expert on these kind of things, but I can't see how you would build an atom accelerator. Certainly they must ionize the atom first in order to make it charged such that it may be accelerated using electromagnetic fields, and at that point it's not technically an atom, right?

"Let's hope this doesn't happen on the real rosetta. That would be rather unfortunate if their 'grabby things' broke and they bounced off the surface" http://www.smh.com.au/world/rosetta-comet-landing-malfunctions-made-philae-bounce-a-kilometre-off-the-surface-20141113-11medc.html You're welcome! :)

Interesting Banana Fact: Makes atheists cringe!

He could've just told us he's back and will make more videos. You should be thankful he added this weird little skit.

Looks similar to what I hoped Spore to be, before my dreams were crushed.

Dragon's breath Personally I found that although the scope of the game was large, every single stage felt underdeveloped, and it was too linear and left little room for alternative strategies.

+Jakers457 The apparent sphericity of earth is actually an optical illusion. It's obviously flat. Just look out your window!

I was a bit bothered when they had docked to the space station during reentry and decided to thrust tangential to the center of gravity. In reality this would not cause acceleration in any particular direction except around its own center of gravity. But lo and behold, it fliest straight as an arrow, reentry is cancelled and space station is pushed right back into space.

What happened 4:02 (2010) when a lot of discoveries are suddenly made tangential to earth's orbit rather than away from the sun?
2
What an awesome time we live. So much data!

Bold statement.

Wait, isn't beer gonna help you relax rather than increase your heart rate?

Piñata Oblongata The source of my confusion was that I was under the impression that ion and atom are mutually exclusive concepts. But after browsing definitions of ion it is clear that ion is a subset of atom. (Anion ∪ Cation) ⊆ Ion ⊆ Atom
1
Mandos Aldmer The premise of my question was flawed. Ions are in fact atoms. Either I was taught wrong in elementary school or I just misunderstood. It's good that I finally corrected this misconception. A proton is a fermion and can be regarded as a H+ atom, so it's possible to accelerate atoms, however not while it's neutrally charged, as both you and I pointed out.

+The Beard I think he writes code for Apple.

Disable brake on front wheel to safely break top-heavy aircrafts.

But wouldn't you achieve a higher velocity outside of kerbin's atmosphere?
1
Scott, you've got to dig up those old space-ship drawings from your child-hood and show us!

I just watched it. Was not bothered by the sound. It was probaby the theatre. I did not watch IMAX though.

TheLivirus B 1 month ago: "Surely he must have assumed circular orbits to pull off this visualization. Otherwise he'd need several observations for each and every asteroid to calculate their orbits." Scott Manley 1 month ago: "People have already made those observations, indeed, until the orbit is determined it won't be accepted as a discovery." Asteroid Discovery - 1980-2012 - UHDTV Thanks for clarifying Scott! :)

That's quite an awesome fireball you've got there!

+Voltron Force Though not its usefulness.

+Yewtub Why not? Subscribing again once the spamming has stopped isn't many mouse clicks away. Let's not blow YouTube subscription out of proportion.

KSP needs procedurally generated solar systems.

Is this at work or do you have a white board at home? I'm gonna buy a white for my living room.
1
That is one ugly rocket... but functional... and engineery.

I've for long wanted to place a large asteroid in orbit around Gilly.

A common issue is that your pitch control surfaces are behind the center of mass, therefore requiring the back of the plane to drop in order to get lift, but since it's on the ground this won't happen. Simplest solution in this case is usually to just keep accelerating to the end of the runway. Other solutions are to either add control surfaces onto the front part of the plane or adjust landing gears such that the plane points slightly upwards.

I hope it wasn't an important part that I killed.
1
zeke1220 How else does your center of mass translate to the pad?
1
Derek Fordyce Well that's true.

That eve is REALLY PURPLE.

They need to add a suspension term to those springs.

A simple solution to the problem of asymmetry would be to just launch two shuttles. :)

So, I built this space station and successfully docked a probe to one of the docking ports, but when I tried to dock a second probe to the station the damn port won't open. I hit it right in the center like 5 times but the magnets never kick in and it just bounces off the port... ...turns out I equipped the station with two different ports. I realigned my probe to a corresponding port and succeeded on first attempt. X(

If I had seen kick-starter and cheap, online, mass distribution of games coming, I had chosen game developing as profession. Why do we only have one life?
1
Would be really awesome if you could put down the flag at the top of the tower.
1
I'm not sure whether to hurry or not. Do you know if there's some time restriction or does the working day stop after a certain number of clients?
1
Not just any guess, quite a qualified one. By now he has quite some experience with KSP and is familiar with much of the math going on inside the black box.
1
I don't like mods. Feels like cheating. And I like to keep my installs clean.
1
Allright thanks! I'll use that.

Question: I was trying to make a perfectly circular orbit around Kerbal at 100,000 m altitude. As I was approaching the number for both "Ap" and "Pe" it started to behave a bit wierd. It seems as though "Ap" and "Pe" were drifting (see "Apsidal precession"). What's behind this phenomenon? Is it a matter of rounding errors or some kind of tidal effect due to lunar influense? I mean, the phenomenon does seem to disappear at higher excentricity.
