Isn't Robert's idea about transducers kind of similar to Roger Penrose's quantum microtubules?

Regarding corporations avoiding taxes. I've listened to these people. Their perspective is typically that corporate tax is not so much about redistribution as it is about steering corporations into activities that the government wants to promote. If a corporation pays no tax, they see it as the corporation being rewarded by the government for doing precisely what it is encouraged to do. This way they can view minimization of tax burden not as cheating, but as an honorable duty. To some degree I think their view on taxes is not very different from how the government views taxes.

This is racist.

Mark essentially admits here that he has no interest in being the guy making the calls, so he lets third parties censor as they find necessary. They took Mark to court to pressure him into handing over the reins to the powerful tool he built... and he caved.

Total number of deaths 2020 so far, regardless of cause, seems to be considerably higher than last few years. Is this rise due to covid? Difficult to say for sure, but I think that would be a reasonable guess.

Randall dropped a lot of fascinating stuff in this podcast. Unfortunately he ended on a note of numerology, which I have little patience for. He seems a little too eager to scavenge for evidence in support of his preconceived ideas. It would be more credible if he made serious attempts to falsify them.

Joe seems to conflate communism and dictatorship.

Jesus Christ this episode left me paranoid.

What kind of comedian doesn't appreciate a loud fart? I thought more of Louie.

Red Mango If you shot neutrons, they would have fired back.

@jeffreyyoungblood7438 It's ok, it's natural to have neutrons firing in your brain. Nothing to be ashamed about: https://hps.org/publicinformation/ate/faqs/faqradbods.html

2:44:05 About protein and fat. This is referred to as "protein poisoning", "rabbit starvation" or "fat hunger". Wiki on this topic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protein_poisoning Scientific data seems to be scarce, but it's historically documented.

Notice how Joe's head-phones are positioned on his head. Yeah, you can't unsee that now. I'm sorry!

A perhaps better way of saying it is that mathematical physics studies nature as it exists independent of human experience. Quite reasonable if you accept that the universe existed long before humanity and will exist long after us and that humanity orbits one star among sextillions.

@souldesire5932 Has the research been reviewed by peers? Did it receive any critique? Was there anything to it?

Interesting disagreement between Joe and Jordan's views on psychadelics. Joe feels psychadelics unite people by promoting selflessness and a sensention of being part of a greater whole. Jordan feels that psychadelics drive exploration and disruption of tradition, leading to division and chaos.

I have to say I enjoy shit jokes.

I think China is going to be the most important factor influencing our future world. More discussions about China please.

The best way to have coffee is to hype it up, build myth, culture and ritual around it and stigmatize naysayers.

Al Franken drawing state boarders is impressive? Try Stephen Wiltshire drawing entires cities in intricate detail from memory. EDIT: Oh, Robert referred to this later.

Her voice is really pleasant to listen to!

I think the core message Thaddeus is trying to convey is that our task is to invent and shape categories to describe our nature; certainly not to shape our nature to fit categories. Categorization should be our tool for making sense of the world, not for controlling it.
1
Wow, that was really interesting! :)

While I would like to see that happen, I'm not sure it would be worth the cost of time and energy.

I think Robert Epstein underestimates what Joe says about forgetfulness being a feature. The human brain isn't just storing raw data flowing from our senses, it processes and interprets the data, then stores symbols of essential features which seem useful to us. We have the "use it or lose it" effect. Also, it seems Robert is playing a game of semantics refusing to call this memory.

It is true that gender has biological basis and these biological differences leads to noticeable behavioral tendencies. However, it is also true that some of the characteristics we attribute to gender are socially constructed and can be constraining for a person who diverge from the norm (such as Debra feeling "masculine"). Since it is often difficult to draw a line between what is innate and what is socially constructed, we better remind ourselves that gender should be descriptive and not prescriptive. That is: people shouldn't behave according to their gender, their gender should be defined by how they behave.

Joe when opening the podcast: "I like you, well, not as much as you."

2:31:54 That body shows no rigor mortis, so must be within a few hours of his death.

According to Chris Martenson, shots 1-8 were mere most likely from Crooks, shot 9 was from a local ESU agent and shot 10 from a secret service sniper. Note that while shot 9 caused Crooks to halt the shooting, the killing shot by the secret service sniper was much later (26 seconds after the first shot was fired). This is often overlooked, leading to the misconception that Crooks was killed immediately after firing the shots.

@ullas9999 I have no idea what you're talking about.

Lex spends most of his own podcast listening intensely to his guests. I wish Rogan had stopped yapping and allowed Lex to share more of his wisdom.

Ian is just so chill to listen to.
