The cardiovascular system is not fixed at all. Stuff goes in and out of the walls all the time, red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, etc are created, destroyed and removed. Sugar, fat, salt, water goes in and out of the walls. Vessels expand and contract. Blood volume and pressure is regulated short and long term through various mechanisms.
