It begins with the displaced 750,000 + Palestinian's in 1948 in violation of the UN Resolution creating Israel. Specifically, the European Zionists agreed to not displace any Palestinian's. And yet they had always planned to do just that. As far back as Theodor Herzel in the late 1800's.
The Palestinian's were ethically cleansed out of their homes orchards businesses.
Then in 1967 the occupation of Gaza and the West Bank set in motion the continued resistance fighters. The groups, as you correctly point out, argue among themselves, but not about the fundamental goal of a State and right of return of the 5.5 million Palestinian's in the diaspora.
The US has never been an honest broker and the entire concept of a Judaic democracy is a contradiction in terms.
As far as resistance goes. I'm a Transnational Militant Atheist Anarchist Marxist Socialist supporting National Liberation Groups since age 17 supporting the PIRA RIRA CIRA PFLP AIM Mujahedeen fighting in Afghanistan and then spent 20 years in Federal prison surrounding the support and activities involved. Is based on the fact that if you are an illegally occupied people you can use any MEANS necessary within the laws of war to resist. That means assassination, bombings (as French did in WWII against the Nazis) suicide bombers, ( as the Japanese Kamakazi pilots did).
The US looked the other way, and continues to, regarding the Zionists colonial entity development of nuclear weapons. Currently the State of Israel is in violation of Geneva Conventions International laws and UN Resolutions, all of which equally allow for the resistance groups to attack the Zionists colonial entity.
The American people have little idea how brutally oppresive the israelis are to the Palestinian's both in the West Bank and Gaza and also inside israel itself. There are 50+ laws applicable only to non-jews Inside the State of Israel. Yet they have 3.8 billion dollars annually sent of their taxes.
Yasser Arafat suggested years ago a one State solution with right of return. That was rejected by the Zionists. They want a Jewish only State from the river to the sea. The Palestinian's want a State from the river to the sea and it can contain Jews and Christians and Muslims. Who's the racist entity in those two scenarios?

HISTORY wouldn't necessarily back you on the americans backing allies. First, you know officially Israel is not an ally because they haven't signed the NPT so the US is barred from treaties etc etc.
When three so called allies, Israel France and the UK invaded Egypt at Suez in 1956 all it took was one phone call from the Soviets to Eisenhower threating to bring out nuclear weapons and Ike was on the phone threating to destroy the French and UK economies if everyone didn't stand down troops and go home pronto.
At Dien Bien Phu before the French were overwhelmed and defeated they requested help, tactical nuclear weapons, Washington said, sorry no can do! And America had been helping finance the French in their foolish attempt to reassert coloniaists in Indochina.
During the Iraq war Americans promised the Iraqi Kurds they'd cover their asses if they fought against Saddam but let Saddam Hussein gas hundreds of Kurds without lifting a finger.
And too, America hasn't successfully won a major conflict since the War in the Pacific against the Japanese. The Soviet's lost 26 million people in WWII the US about 400,000 Americans. I'm not suggesting Putin would jump on a nuclear threat bandwagon but I do know that Transnational Corporations who finance congressmen and White House campaigns and inturn use the military and CIA NSA FBI to leverage access to resources and markets for the benefit of stockholders equity and dividends and capital gains are dictating foreign and domestic policy for Uncle Sam who's dictating foreign policy for NATO coalition and EU members to some extent and stockholders will never allow for a nuclear war if it means losing equity, which would certainly be a byproduct of the United States being vaporized in a nuclear war.
America resupplied the Zionists in the 1972 Yom Kippur war when they were running low on ammunition rockets etc and the Syrians and Egyptians had tanks rolling into core israeli territory and the Zionists thought they might lose. BUT the US refused to directly enter the conflict. So, don't assume what you're assuming about America.
Further, if Iran and Hizbullah decided to unleash all the missles in Lebanon the destruction would happen before the US could assemble a preemptive force. You recall it took months to go to the Gulf War and the Iraq invasion. Uncle Sam moves slowly. American could send in tomahawk cruise missiles but they risk having their sea based platforms sunk. You know the saying, there are only two types of ships, submarines and TARGETS 🛳🚀💥⚰.
So,if the Zionists colonial entity Israel keeps pushing they may find Tel Aviv razed to the ground, like Dresden.
